New Quest Metal Detectors

I know a bunch of guys here have issues with Chinese detectors so I reluctantly will make a post I may get lambasted about.

Quest sent me a Q40 to try out here in Canada. Have had it out numerous times now. Excellent detector, plenty of features, easy to use, excellent depth.

The new Quest Pro not released yet is supposed to be even better than the Q40! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of them.

Looks very interesting. How does it compare in recovery speed to say the AT-Gold? I like the waterproof feature. What is the cost in U.S. dollars?

I have zero problem with Chinese, Russian, Bulgarian, French, Turkish - you name it - detector makers hiring smart engineers to do original designs for new detectors.

I do have a big problem with piracy of intellectual,property - on the surface, it doesn't seem to be the case here.

Q40 Recovery speed some pre-set programs the recovery speed will be faster or slower depending upon the mode program used. The recovery speed cannot be manually adjusted. I don't have a AT-Gold to compare it to.
The Q20 and Q40 are not submersible under water, they have an IP66 rating that is only waterproof to heavy rains or spraying with a hose. The Quest Pro will be waterproof IP68 and submersible to 10'.
Retail for the Q40 is around $469 retail. Q20 is around $269 Retail.
