Thanks for the link. When will we see some hunting videos from English speaking users like yourself? Particularly beach hunting?

Minelab is smart. They knew December was a bad month cause most people are flat broke buying gifts for people that nobody wants or likes. February is tax return peak time when everybody blows money again haha.

There have been a lot better finds made with an ACE 250, but to be fair, it has been around longer. We'll see if it can catch up or find anything a person wouldn't have found with the ACE. I understand the finds posted on that link are not meant to indicate a person would not find the same with the ACE.

I guess that explains why there are so many Ace 250's being swung in the UK, now I know, it's a sleeper. I just cancelled my order for my EQ800 and ordered my 250 instead.

I hope the pics alone didn't influence your decision. I haven't seen anyone locate a target with an ACE 250 ,lay it down, and then see if the Equinox would also find that same target.

Welcome,but don't be so hard on yourself. You might be able to work on that self esteem by holding an Equinox in your hand before long. Personally, I'd wait for some actual data and comparison before purchasing. Dr.Tones may do just that.

This forum has become largely insufferable recently, with all the inane and ridiculous posting that's been going on. C'mon guys, do we really need to drag down what has traditionally been one of the best, most informative detecting sites that exists on the 'net? Let's all return to the "higher standard" that has been the case more often than not, on here, in the past...what do we say?

Site seems to be improving daily to me. Always was and is " one of the most informative detecting sites " as you put it. Perhaps the most informative. Seeking information on this detector's performance as well as it's marketing may show that " higher standard " if those with that information bring it. The gentleman put it quite eloquently - " Where have you gone DoctorTones 24k our nation turns its lonely eyes towards you....." Thanks for asking and giving me a reason to comment on your concerns.

We have a date........ almost. Des....looks like WE arent going to get our hands on one during your visit. Im hoping this means a pair of water proof phones will be out the too...... because i was told they had no release day for those phones or additional coils.

No one is claiming that the ACE 250 will out perform the Equinox. It may in some circumstances. There have been no comparisons tested that I am aware of although this gentleman seems to have knowledge on all detectors in comparison to the Equinox-

The issue here is that Dr. Tones posyed a link to where he is quoted as saying "The Minelab EQUINOX is truly in a league of its own. In the short time I've been operating this machine, I've recovered deep coins and artifacts from iron infested sites that other machines simply cannot detect."

I feel it is fair to question that claim. I also think that when a person has followers, those followers will often try to make a diversion away from the issue in an attempt to " help " the claimant avoid the issue. The issue of who is discussing the issue, as you noted,is fair.

The proof will be in the pudding of unbiased reviews to come....hang in there folks.
I always heard good things about Minelab at least no worse or better then others.

Never had any detector even in for service including Minelab, Fisher,Tesora, Garrett to name a few.
Though my experience is limited to only a few "real" detectors.

Des......... believe it or not, ive been here about 8 years and have never been over there. Sounds like a road trip to me if thats the only way to touch this machine before summer lol. I think you are correct..... Dec would be crazy with all the packages and people taking vacations. My luck ..... mine would get lost by the UPS truck and id still not get it till summer. BUT..... im still optimistic that this machine will fill some gaps with the Xcal and CTX for all around hunting. Just wondering if this is the cheap version........ and the NEXT one will be a get in your pocket CTX price upgrade?
