"What if the Equinox sux"-a satire piece

***Please do not read if you are looking for a serious discussion***

So this was the post that was deleted. Reported for deletion by a lonely person, filled with hate and/or jealousy. I feel sorry for him actually because he is going to have a life filled with loneliness and resentment. There is nothing terrible about this piece that I can see.
---
"What if" seems to be the question we all contemplate. What if I won the lottery or what if I did something different. With this or any manufacture, there will always be a bias. Some will hate them, some will love them. With the Equinox, some think that there is a "too big to fail" mentality. While others are secretly hoping it fails. So I am here to present "What if, the Minelab Equinox fails" scenario.

Early February, 2018:

The Minelab Equinox arrives in the hands of average Joe users. Many videos and blogs are posted with ad-hock reviews, un-boxings, and air tests. Most seem favorable and very positive on the onset.

Late April, 2018:

Many average Joe users begin to voice the many mis-givings with the Equinox. Poor depth, various bugs, and performance which is sub-par compared with current machines, cause a slight stampede in regards to getting a refund.

Late June, 2018:

Minelab goes back to the drawing board to re-design the Equinox however, the first thing they do is change the name.

Mid-July, 2018:

Having a dismal launch, Minelab stops production on the Equinox and is issuing a recall with a full refund to anyone who purchased the Equinox.

Detectival 2018:

Minelab surprises the world with the re-released of their new machine, the Sub-seismer. A machine based off the Equinox however, it is more redesigned fo water hunting. To present the detector, Minelab has a guy jump out of a submarine.

And there you go.

BP---wanna buy some of those"damn cryin' towels"??--- Just in case. LOL
Re: "What if the Equinox sux"-a satire piece

Just saying, but for the record, I want it to succeed! As for the crying towel, yea I did my fair share of crying about the release date. I will own up to that.

Having said that, I will back it up with a consumer/ human being has a right to complain/protest. If you don't, you cease to exist as an individual.

Anyhow, I thought I would write the piece as a "poke in the eye" to the crowd that wants it to fail.

I can't understand why anyone who is a MD'er would want a new machine, which may Help them,to fail. Anything that will help with our hobby is helpful.
I do,however, enjoy ribbing some of those whose slobbering is a bit much, hence my "cryin' towel" posts.

Other than people who have financial interests in the various manufacturers, I don't see why anyone would want it to fail or succeed. A machine by anyone that advances the tech/hobby is ultimately good for us all.

I wonder if it does who will by the first to admit it?
Man haven't seen this much hype since the wait for the F75. Which turned out to be a good relic machine but not as good for us coin hunters. I thought it was going to be the New CZ so I was disappointed. But that's just My style and type of Hunting.

Well I have some theories. It's seems there are people that are brand loyal but here is the rub. No one wants to be wrong. So IF I bought a Deus, basically I am saying I bought what is thought to be the best. However, new the Nox comes along and now, the owner of the Deus is "in the wrong" for having inferior tech, so they attack the new tech because otherwise, the would have to admit they were wrong which is a "no no" for some people's ego.

Other theory is: I thought I had the best, so I must attack new tech and find fault for my own self confidence that I made the right choice.

Last theory: I don't have time or money to look into the new tech, and since everyone is excited about it, I must attack it to avoid "keeping up with the Jones".

MRH thank you for the kind words smiling smiley

I would like it to so I could try it. I heard it's pretty good!

It is just a detector a "tool" to help us find stuff. Are people expecting a magic wand with this model.....common sense says they will be let down. Lightweight/waterproof hardly is a game changer nice but not a game changer.but I hope it is a great tool.

Last time read a pulltab/gold ring are on the same conductive range numbers,To some degree all detectors are beep and dig by nature not electronics.

After this disaster roll out, we've got a bunch of us depressed equinox owners. Thinking of starting the DEOG's, Depressed Equinox Owners Group. We've nominated you to be our Presidente'. You up for it? What say ye?

Well, to be honest, I have done enough research, and gather information from those in the know, to know that there will be some speed bumps, but by June-ish, this machine will be all that it is said to be and more.

Thats always the fear now days......... what if i put out this kind of money..... there are bumps in it that take 6 mos to fix and the solution is....... thats your problem if you bought early now you have to buy the upgrade because we got it all wrong. YET..... new stuff is coming every year...... just like golf clubs or any other sport or hobby.... how current do you want to be? But most of us well........ we just like new toys lol.
