Fresh water or land try an older Tesoro( GS-2, Toltec 100 Pantera or like vintage in all metal...Zero Disc.....gold will give a solid hit...junk will sound ratty...its all in the audio not
fancy meters etc........most salt water situations need a PI...

For beach micro jewellery i find using a TDI Pro with a 6'' coil the best and for inland or freshwater surprising the Compadre with a 4'' coil on,experimenting with a Mirage Pulse and a 5'' coil as well for beach work at the moment and seems to be a very good combination.

I hear the best way to get a gold chain with CTX is to take the CTX to the pawn shop with you when you go buy.
