The Culpeper Experience for two new releases.

The Nox 800 and Makro Multi Kruzer. Both found targets down to 8 inches and when cross checked had the same results . I live just down the road from Culpeper. With forty years hunting there this is impressive. But no matter what happened in this field never go there without a ground balancing pulse.

Very impressed with what Makro is doing with single frequency detectors and how they handle bad dirt. I just ordered the 7in concentric for real trashy ghost town, mine work, should be stellar.

Good question.

I have also used the Equinox as well as the Kruzer in the Culpeper soil. Both units found bullets at decent depth and I was surprised how stable both ran. I will say that the Equinox did have a more consistent target ID numbers. BUT when I got into the hilly areas with deep red clay they both struggled to get any decent depth and had to bring the PI machine out.

Not sure about the Impact. Have not had time to test it there. The Kruzer is very deep in 4 tone and still plenty fast. It will be about a week before I can get out. The Impact offers more but the Kruzer has it's place. I will be hunting some creek and River sites later this spring. So having a waterproof machine will be a plus. Hope to get some waterproof headphones soon.I like the build quality .

If a company develops a VLF that doesn't stumble in Culpeper dirt they won't be able to keep up with demand for years.

The Blisstool I have works good. But still even Culpeper has dirt that is not bad at all so it is sometimes difficult to tell good from hot dirt. I have a piece of bedrock from the area. When a good non-ferrous target is placed on it, it will be reported as iron in the discrimination mode. It is my theory that when the bedrock is in the detectors depth range this will have more influence on the discrimination feature. We used the Whites Blue and Grey back in the day. It will go deep in all metal but lacked depth in discrimination unless it was a plate or buckle. Most other targets, good and bad were reported as iron.
