Heres a look at the features and performance of both detectors.600 and 800

'Wow...be careful or pretty soon there'll be some Cancelled 800 orders as some hop/jump/migrate to a 600 (it's already happening)

It’s already happened in my case – I sold my 800 to a friend for what I paid for it and jumped on a classified ad on another forum for 600 new in the box for $525.

My hunting this spring will be almost entirely at the beach so I don’t think I lose anything – and I rescue a few of my dollars

I negotiated a group buy for some EQ800’s that put them at only $130 above the MSRP of the EQ600.

That’s the cost of the headphones alone, not to mention the advanced features. As a relic hunter that would likely leverage some of the advanced features, and given that the EQ800’s prospecting mode has proven itself (I will use it) the premium of the EQ800 is a no brainer for me.

If someone would invent a way for me to have more detecting time, that would be priceless thumbs down

Good work, but what kind of price could you have gotten for 600’s under the same conditions?

"I think it's a kind of a no-brainer really!
Why wait and waste valuable time when you can be experiencing Multi IQ and get to grips with the technology to see if it's for you and making you and your sites 'sing!'
Here in EU, farmers are turning to plowing and fields are becoming off limits by the day so why not get on with it by using a 600 and get to learn it and benefit - after all the 6 and 8 are 'equally as powerful' ( if not fully customisable in the 6' case)

I bought a 600 because I have time to detect now. Bugs aren't out, grass is low and fields are open. Originally I was thinking about using the 600 then buying an 800 later this year when they are more available but I'm so impressed with the 600 I'll probably just keep it.

It's a moot point, as we didn't want the 600, but I don't doubt they could've been had for a better deal.

I'm sure the markup on the 800 is a fair bit higher (then the 600) considering the advanced features are a function of software and the wireless headphones and wireless module COGS to Minelab is likely almost insignificant in the overall MSRP.

Well done. It was very interesting to see how they stack up together.
Were the I.D. numbers close or exact ?

Thanks
