Need Help on CZ 3-D Info

I bought a 3-D off Ebay that a guy said was an early model. I assumed it would be a 1021 series. When I got it the serial was 10060190...confused...hear about the 1021 and 1121 but this number seems older....is this possible? It is just a white tag with the number printed on it. My 1021 CZ3D has S/N and model info and a bar code.....could this be a counterfeit label?

Hi Steve. I think your detector is fine. I purchased mine from Kellyco in Jan. of 07, it just has the white sticker and number 11060257. Sent mine to Tom in 08 to be recalibrated. Tom says mine was made Feb 11 of 06. If this is correct then i belive yours was made Jan 10 of 06. You can tell by the serial number what month,day, and year it was made. Hope this helps. Mike.

I dont see how that could be true because my other 3D is 10210431 does that mean it was made in 1921???? you are saying the second set of numbers is the year...from what I can tell the first 3Dwas made in 04

Try 10-21-04....which is in line with the first year of production. The 31........possibly the 31st unit of production.

then with all the big hype about the 1021 units would mean they were all built on Oct 21st?

Hi Steve . Mike here again. Sorry i misinformed you. I found the paper Tom sent me, Mine was built in Nov of 06 and was the 257th unit built by first texas, therefore i believe yours was built Oct of 06 and was the 190 th one built in El Paso, Texas

So what would be the details of my 10210936 serial numbered unit.

Serial numbers beginning with '1021' are the first generation CZ-3D's produced......commencing in Feb 2004. This run/batch lasted for approx 1-year. Then..........'1121' became the 2nd batch/generation......with a few minor upgrades/mod's that did not alter performance. (one part being 'no longer available'......another part being upgraded.......another part with slightly tighter tolerances.....etc.......etc.......).

So which production run do you recommend.......1021 or 1121.....or?............and why?

Any/all of the 1021's

.....and........the first half of the 1121's; yet, I do not know where in the serial number history.......specifically where a logical cut-off would be for the 1121's.

tom...so are you saying there are only 1021 and 1121 and my serial number is bogus? I really dont understand why mine is 10060190 if 1021s were the beginning numbers....

No.........there are plenty of other serial numbers for CZ-3D that do not begin with 1021 or 1121.
