Sweated good today..
Found this old House site .
old road intersection in front of it
Here's the Jonquils
and a couple digs..
and a Unique Tag....Too bad its aluminum..
its for a swimming pool that was in use at a close by resort from about 1890-1910.

Keith not to hijack your thread,but your pics remind me of my hunting in the Vicksburg/Port Gibson area for the past 45 years. Back in 97 a Doc friend of mine at the medical center asked me to bring him some Daffodils/Jonquils from the battlefield because his 4 yo daughter wanted to plant some flowers.I dug him some from way back in the woods and he related to me an interesting endearing story
affodils/Jonquils bulbs have roots(hairy side) on one end and this is the end that goes down in the ground so while they were planting the bulbs his little 4yo daughter would admonish him: Hairy side down Dad. I was driving in to work one morning shortly after this and these words came to me:
And The Daffodils Are In Bloom
It's spring the year 1863
My country tis of thee
Bountiful harvests from rolling hills and rich fields
A time to praise--not to kill
But listen to the guns roar
Will our sons darken our door no more
And The Daffodils Are In Bloom
Miracles-that is what the physicians are asked to perform
With only their knife,saw and a little chloroform
Their hearts are heavy as they hear the cannons boom
Soon they will see on the faces of young men that look
Impending doom
And The Daffodils Are In Bloom
It's spring the year 1997
Our Father who art in Heaven
The once bountiful fields are fallow
The hills are shrouded in mist
But tomorrow that will change with nature's kiss
Somewhere a Dad and his little Daughter plant bulbs
with the hope that Mother Nature will show her power
Ah--the magic of a flower
And The Daffodils Are In Bloom
It's spring the year 2033
Sweet land of Liberty
The Dad walks into his backyard
Did they make it another year
Yes--there in the corner they have raised their golden heads
Pleasant memories rush in
What was the best spring I ever had

like Del said = that looks like a nice relaxing area to hunt! No flowers bloomin here I tell ya. It's been a mild winter here though. Been able to get out diggin a few days here & there all winter long and will be going again in a few days thanks to more mild weather on it's way
Got a cellar hole to hunt back in some woods and with very little snow this year coupled with above avg. temps for much of the winter = the dirt in the woods is still diggable here.
Cool finds there pal = I'd take em
