Seems in the South Pacific there's trees that ooze metal in the sap...25 percent nickle...bet the roots sound good!!! [www.newstimes.com].

I know I have dug roots around here at times that sound good..maybe since I'm in heavy iron ore area the trees in my locale have some iron in them.??..the ones I dig do have a red tint to them.

My AT Pro always falses around an apple orchard I hunt. The owner said they used to put iron in the ground for the trees.

Yeah the ones around here that seem to suck up the iron is the mimosa tree's..They love to grow in craggy irony type soil

Bust through the root and the signal although suspicious sounding to start with will disappear .

Never seen the pine's do it or oaks or poplar's??

Iron ore is one thing but couldn't imagine getting into non ferrous metals in a root.confused smiley

Heard of Ironwood?. Used to have an 8" piece of wood on our porch that was very heavy....brick weight. Found it along an old fence line. I kept it because it was more like rock, than wood....petefied?. Neighbor said it was ironwood. Never scanned with my detector tho...... Ha

Wish I could find a tree that oozze's gold sap. Old story here about pioneers that sought after Horsetail plants, suppose to be a sign of gold in the soil.
