Oh Yeah!! That's a great idea. Send that thought to that engineer, if you can. Thinking about it though, if you got too nasty, they might do something worse back at ya.

I can't stand a thief. My area has exploded with it.

I remember a few years ago, a news story from Harlan County, Kentucky. A former military demolitions guy and small electronics repair guy rigged up some devices for the heavy theft in his area. He was a deer hunter and had several of his game cameras stolen. So he rigged up some explosives in some game cameras and placed them in the same areas where his had been stolen. The key to this was...they were harmless if left alone. But if stolen...that's where the bad stuff happened. He had them rigged to where they would explode upon putting batteries in them, and with enough of a charge to blow off some fingers or maybe a hand. Several of his devices were found and the people that found them had bad days when they decided to put batteries in their loot. One of the people ended up dying and thus the ATF and everybody else were brought in. They arrested him but later shot and killed him when he tried to escape. They have no idea how many devices he put out there in the Harlan woods.

Although it serves them right for stealing the game cams, it's illegal to booby trap with the intent to cause bodily harm. What if a kid had picked it up and decided to take it apart? It's no different then booby trapping your property with the intent to cause bodily harm, totally illegal (well maybe not in Florida - lol).

Cal -- Stealing is illegal too but it sure don't stop people from doing it. I'm a little cold hearted when it comes to thieves. A glitter mess, fart spray, or purple paint is too kind for them. I go Old Testament real quick when it comes to thieves. Ask me for help and I will do what I can for ya. Give you the shirt off my back. Steal from me, and you're better off shooting John Wick's dog.

Sure, you're pointing out the obvious. But there are valid reasons for laws against booby trapping with the intent of doing bodily harm, such as I mentioned, harming children that likely have innocent intentions.

Don't get me wrong, I think adults that steal deserve far worse then glitter and fart spray, but what are you going to do, put mustard gas in there? lol

I laughed my ass off when the fart spray went off.

I hate a theft worst than just about anything. I think using the skunk scent and permanent blue dye combo would be all I'd be willing to risk in a booby trap since criminals have so many rights nowadays. They'd have to hole up somewhere for a week or more because of the stink and blue dye. lol

“criminals have so many rights nowadays.”

Got that right, and more rights than the honest people!
