Whatever happened to AKA? I had a SOREX PRO which was a capable detector.

AKA is a Bulgarian company. Dimitar, the developer of the MDT is originally from Bulgaria I believe. I have no idea if there is any other connection.

Hello George,

I think the MDT disc mode sounds similar to an AKA, having never owned an AKA but watched a few videos audio are about the same if using disc mode with the MDT.

Prefer using Mix mode myself, slightly deeper and target audio easier to hear on deeper weaker signals.

Take care old friend,
Paul

AKA are Russian their headquarters are in Moscow
Mikron BG in Bulgaria Mikron is the main representative of AKA in Europe. Here in Bulgaria in our factory is the only base for assembling outside Russia, testing and shipping new AKA metal detectors and spares

Paul I have used all the newer AKA. The mixed mode audio is very similar to the MM or metal trash mode on the AKA's. There are other mode similarities but it is complicated to explain this. Keep digging my Old Friend.

Per Igor:

The reason is still testing of initial software and other things in concern.Several detectors were produced and spread here in Russia on different kinds of ground.Constantly, they change or add the software.
There are two main things in the software of Intronik now.The first one is,so called, delta Hodograph based on the method of deduction signals and the second is 2S method, that consists of 2 Signums in one due to the explanation of creators.
So,the main Intronik advantage is to detect on mineralized soil without any loss of depth (with Delta method). On not mineralized soil,it is better to use 2S method to receive incredible depth to compare with the rest market of VLF detectors. The testers compare Intronik in this case with GPX detector, but with better ID and light weight.
