hot smileyBanner day with EQXinox 800 for me.hot smiley

Took the ole Nox 800 for a spin back in same site I have been hunting for the last week or so. Only ran the Wi stream module with the Walkman style headphones. Field 2 speed 5 all used to detect.
I surprised myself big time.
Pulled a for sure 2 silvers, one a cut reale, the other a whole coin Spanish, and I think I actually dug a hammered silver if you can beleive that. All 3 dug about 15 feet in a triangle from one another.
Not all finds videoed.

The first cut Spanish bit I thought I videoed but file got corrupted somehow. Did turn camera back on though and showed the first.
The rest of the Spanish shown in the video.

Nox rocks, I have spent loads of time where these silvers came from. And never did dig one in the past here. With any detector. Granted I dug a fake bit a few days ago down the hills somewhat from where I was today. But this bit thicker as it come from fake Spanish dollar I think.
The bits and coins today extremely thin.

Loving the Nox with the Wi stream module.

Enjoy the video.
Will post a few pics.
[m.youtube.com]

I tried to alter lighting so some detail could be seen on these when using iPad to take pics.

The bit chopped in half 1778.
The coin is 1767.
Look closely at the coin I think you can see see some lettering and numbering. Coin is worn badly.

Here is what I think is an old maybe hammered coin. It was bent on edge and I broke a tad off the edge. It came out of ground just like younsee in pic, close to other Spanish. It is not perfectly round. It seems has some design on it when looking though with magnifying glass. Is really worn though.

All nonferrous dug today.
Did dig one blob of iron not pictured.

Very sweet! Big congrats, I’ll never find that in my area!

Just curious, what’s your ground like? Wondering why your speeds at 5?

Haven’t used Wi-Stream yet, how’s it compare to the stock phones?

Thanks Dean, Cal and Aaron.

Aaron to answer your questions.

I claim to be NO equinox expert.
Running speed 5 is deeper vs speed 6 in my ground.
Speed 5 might also give a stronger tone vs speed 6,,and longer tone too, Both are important. And give this longer and or stronger tone on an actual speed 6 detectable target (shallower).
Now speed 6 may indeed give a better signal on some targets vs speed 5 will do. Speed 6 may allow tone period whereas speed 5 might not.

Whenever iron and or mineral is entered into equation. Many permutations can exist.

My opinion.
An old site using Nox and stock coil.
Can a person hunt hard multiple times with one set of settings or one detect mode??
And deem site dead Nox (stock coil wise) ?
Nope.
And if site has iron this means even more different configuration using Nox setting wise to try and find possible existing targets.
Granted more hunts afterwards likely finds numbers overall less, still though some nonferrous I think will be located.

Cheers.

For MRH.
Like that video there buddy?
See that Spanish silver pop out.
Thought you said it didn’t exist in my area as I was too far inland.

Thanks Paul.
I may never find another one of these around here. I will keep trying though. Going back soon. May even play with speed 4 some, just to see what happens.

Nice finds David! The relic hunters pick a reale off now and then in some of the camps, but other wise they don't show up that often. HH jim tn

Not easy to have a better outing than that, good deal.

Thanks Jim, George and Ozzie.
A go pro camera is nice.
One problem though with them,
When you do video clips and put together, it makes the whole outing look a lot shorter and easier than it really was.
Wish it was that easy. Lol

Nice finds! I had the Nox 800 for a short time and did not like the wireless headphones that came with it at all. Others have said they sound great and some said not so much. I didn't like them. I did like the Bluetooth WM08 module with my preferred headphones. I weighed my options and sold the Nox. If Minelab ever makes an 8" round or something like an 8'x5' coil that balances out the detector a bit better, I may go back to the Nox but it was a bit too nose heavy for this broke down old manto use for over a couple of hours. Thanks for the report.

James,

I have a counterweight solution for the nose-heaviness of the Equinox, if you are interested (send me a PM).

Thanks a lot.
Out of commission temporarily with bum leg.
Strained it some how. Few days ago detecting. And I think aggravated again detecting/digging.

I am walking. Just not well. Going detecting tomorrow and try this 15” Nox coil out. Have a friend going along. Hopefully can shoot some video. I wish my friend would make a nice find.
