Took Anfibio multi on hunt today- found some thing interesting
April 04, 2019 11:17PM
Alright, will give my lowdown on Anfibio Multi unit based solely on today’s hunt. Two videos coming soon. Be ready in about 2 hours and posted here.

Dilek and her team has put together one helluva detector with Anfibio multi. Make no mistake. I highly recommend this detector for a relic hunter even a beginner detectorist.
Why??
This detector is best I have used to date in recognition of ferrous when out in the field. In conjunction with the tonal reporting and meter behavior a detectorist gets loads of info.
Myself I can say with 100 percent certainty if Inwould have hunted with EQx 800 where I used Anfibio mukti today I know good and well I would have dug iron and or nails. Likely with Deus too, I think the round coil is better overall all thing seems considered on this detector. Buttons, etc on edge are more prone to be detected vs say elliptical 7x11” coil. Even wonder why Minelab and Xp stick with round coils??
It may be possible my skill set has improved overall. But I have been running multiple units for a while now. But even today I did well with Anfibio multi. Much better than I had dreamed.
The detector provides the tools, all one has to do is use them.
I stated in one of the videos I think, all detecting today done with external speaker even with the wind that was blowing sometimes pretty stiff. Anfibio sings out and is very intelligible to me.
I have a couple more places i would ld like to run, based solely really on what I wfinessed today. Just an itch I have to scratch.
I did do 2 spot checks using other models detectors.
If I had it to do over again I wish I could have spot checked on a couple of the latter detected targets located with Anfibio. But one never knows what is going to happen in a site target wise.
I pushed Anfibio in the video and you’ll hear me comment on my impressions as far as odds of nonferrous. Anfibio came through with flying colors. So much so I can lower my threshold from here on out for calling a suspect target nonferrous based on detector behavior.
My hunt today basically was walking around in circles in a 500 square foot area. No joke. You’ll see some of the plugs in video.

Hope you enjoy the videos. Sorry for some of the wind in some of the video.

Sorry for the small boo boo. Was real tired.
All nonferrous.

Thought I recovered a big flat button in the field. Nope not a flat button. Looks like a coin. Measures 1 1/8” in diameter. Reads 44 conducttive number on Etrac. And seems edge is reeded. Weight is on my scales 8.21 grams.

Totally looks like an LC David, but a reeded edge would exclude that from the list...whatever it is,it looks OLD! Nice find, let us know if you figure it out...

Cal and IDX,
Seems like I can see a number 7 down closer to edge of rim. And part of another number. Have a friend with a real nice bright lighted magnifier. He uses to pull steel slivers out of his skin where he pulls cable on his job. Will have a look see using it. Can’t put too much stock in it I don’t think based on the weight as I don’t know exaclty how much the corrosive affects have on it plus what I did cleaning it.

Was any store tokens made that ever had a reeded edge ???

Not that I've ever seen, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. We find mostly western era tokens out west (go figure smiling smiley so not sure about civil war era tokens and what not? If you have the redbook, or even PCGS you can look up the diameter and weight of coins, weight may be off on that one due to wear, but you could zero in on it with the diameter and try to line up the numbers you're seeing with the redbook/pcgs example.

TNS,
really hard to see for me, but the 1797 Large Cent (and others) had a variety called a gripped edge. Not reeded, but has the crosswise cuts. Google it to see pics.

David,
Do you think the Tarsacci Mdt-8000 would have hit these targets?

Can’t say one way or the other. Didn’t take it with me on hunt, so I could do head to head.

The more I look at that pic and blow it up on my iPad the more I see “1797”. The more I look at the center the more that blob looks like a right facing bust. It’s easy to let the imagination run wild but I genuinely think it is the “gripped edge” version. I’ve never dug a reeded token, there wasn’t any reason TO reed them,as they weren’t made of valuable metals and subject to “trimming” by thieves...

I believe I have a 1797 LC, dug it a couple years ago. If I can get a pic on here we could compare.

Very nice, Congratulations with these finds David.

The large disc coin may be a French coin, 1790’s era. Very similar to our large cent of same era, once dug a 1793 French coin beat up like yours. From cleaning, finally got a year and other detail showing it was a French coin. It’s now in our county museum, think it was 1793 can’t truly remember.

Congrats!
Paul

Put a light on the edge of the coin, maybe it will throw shadows on any high spots.....for identification.

Well I found another interesting find in this same site.
I think I know exactly what this is.
Will report on in its own thread.

I have video with Tarsacci going head to head with Nox 800 and Etrac.
My site I use to make videos is currently down.
Hope it comes up so I can assemble video and post.
