Lets put it this way the weight of the object does have a bearing where it will land when the tide comes in to a degree but is not proof positive as that elusive gold ring could be anywhere on the beach as storm and weather patterns changes the tide lines from tide to tide and day to day...
Hunting the tide line in a zig zag method and not filling holes as the next tide will do that just turn around and you will see a pattern rel the dig marks for that particuliar tide and be able to find the hot spot where most targets are found
and using that as a guide you can find more targets..
Probably clear as mud but my best explanation using laymans terms..

It's ALL about DENSITY!!!!! When you are beach hunting.....you are DENSITY hunting. ((( Gold/platinum are extremely dense ))).
