Minelab Vanquish 540 Test with the 8 inch Coil

Put the Minelab Vanquish 540 with the 8 inch coil to the test garden today. Not a bad machine for a beginner or someone looking for a reliable backup. For $400 range and you get multi frequency, wireless headphones and iron discrimination. Also if you are familiar with Minelab products you will not have any problem with the turn on and go aspect.Only downside is it is not waterproof. The balance and build of the machine is pretty good. Anyway FWIW I think it will compete just fine against the Garret Ace series and The Simplex.

……...and...…. is the only one of the bunch....that is wet-salt compatible. (SMF M-IQ).

It punches way above "beginner" status...

I have tried every combo with my 340, 540, and the three coils. The 8” coil is flawless in my eyes. Very stable on the 340. I get almost no interference from my pinpointer with this setup. With the 10” coil on the 540 I get some chatter, but that combo is my second favorite. For beginner or “expert” these machines are perfect for unban coin hunting. I don’t care about not being waterproof. The cover that comes with the 540 is all I will ever need.

I have the 540 Pro pack and it's a fun detector to use and it gets pretty good depth and has good seperation abilities.

Just make a 8-inch search coil for my Nox and be done with it.

Its a great machine especially in the $400 range
