That is not acceptable.. .. what's up Minelab? Sounds like their employees are not giving a crap and playing funny little childish games. .. not funny kiddies.

I'll bet MineLab would send Keith a New unit. LOL

That's what happens when everyone starts telling a company how great they are.
They start thinking they can do no wrong.

Doc, you crack me up with these one sentence burns. LOL!!

If you send your food back, some cooks will do nasty things to it.

That sucks! The problem is bigger than they are saying.

Minelab has never been known for it's support. Never.

What should have happened.
It should be actually all manufacturers policy to do.
When a replacement unit is sent out to replace a faulty unit.
Manufacturer should register detector part before they ship.
Hence their data base they use should not allow a part that was registered before to be re registered.
And paperwork accompanying replacement t should state as much your new part is registered and paperwork sent with unit should have ser# info for customers records for future whatever.

I have never had any encounters with any detector manufacturer for broken unit.
So Calabash feel free to weight in on what paperwork came with your 3rd unit.

Maybe manufacturers are already doing what I said above.

Others weigh in too.

You have to download the newest update utility software to get the latest update

Does the latest update stop it from leaking?

I have updated my unit before...It was dead as a brick before update....so no update was done.BTW as I said in the video on further inspection of the control head I found out it was used. So someone had already sent it in..... battery screw was missing..

The problem with the leakage is once you update the electronics as it is at its limits so this causes the box to expand so there is where you start to get leaks. Should have had the updates included in it from the start then there wouldn't be any problems...............hot smileysmiling bouncing smileydrinking smileysmileys with beer>:smiling bouncing smileygrinning smiley

Maybe you should switch brands. Garrett won't treat you like that !!!

That does suck to get a used one and then even it craps out. I should mention that the Tarsacci MDT 8000 isn't having a problem with leakssmiling smiley.

It was confirmed by minelab it was a so called refurbished unit....A unit someone sent back because it had problems.......The guy from down under said I would have a new one shipped Monday...

I'm sure Minelab hoped that refurb unit would have slipped under the radar. I still like the Nox, but too fragile for underwater use.

second hand replacement parts

omg Minelab this is shocking support

why you cant just request the owner to send in a pic/vid of the problem and you simply send out replacement part - its that simple your COMPETITION does it -
