Metal detecting community loses another

Reg was a friend of mine, and lived just a few miles south of me.

He was constantly making mods to the TDI platform, and re-engineering/refining the circuitry .... almost always while in some level of pain.
A couple of his mods ended up in the current TDI production models.

We ended up with some similar exotic vintage detectors, and he could talk metal detectors for hours on end.
(Usually about some new idea to get/improve target id at depth with a PI detector.)

If you knew your stuff, he would bend over backwards to help you out, but he didn't suffer fools gladly.
The community did indeed lose a rare resource.
