Haven't had my CTX for awhile but 4KHZ sounds like it hitting Silver.

Impressive but still a leaker. Lets see if this is number 4 that is if you haven't become gun shy to put it in the water.

Is 4 kHz better than the 5 kHz that the Nox 800 had from day one?? Most just use Multi anyway

I like the 4kHz option, I'd be interested to see it compared to 5kHz, I know I've got bogged down by EMI at most sites I've tried a freq that low at, maybe 4kHz is off-band enough to avoid a big channel of EMI.

I like the silver warble, and talk about up-averaging the TID, WOW! I'm sure I'll eek out a few more keepers with this firmware upgrade, thanks again ML for continuing to breath new life into the Equinox platform

Why a war nickel?

Even though they have a tiny bit of silver, war nickels are still low conductors. They ID just above foil like any other nickel. It might as well be a gold ring. For that, you would want 15 or 20 kHz.

Sometimes war nickels will id using fbs as high conductor. I have witnessed first hand. Talked about it here some years ago. I suspect alloy mixing not uniform is the reason why.

Why can't they make it warble in Multi? Everybody loves it. Also I wonder if the 4khz makes it false more on iron as the Old DMC IV Nautys use to do that at 4khz and not quite as good in iron as the 14khz models.
