David......... this goes back to Teknetics T-2......then the extremely lengthy F75 thread; whereby, masked non-ferrous targets will still read/ID in the iron range; yet, in a totally different iron range than most normal solo iron.
VERY good use (capture) of the available tools of the Deus-2!

Hi Tom.
Still looking at Bird dog setup for ops.
I have been thinking.
I am tempted to communicate with Xp owner and ask if they could add say ID numbers 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 also am tempted to see if they can add silencer setting 1.5.
Doing both of these would make deus 2 better for what I am doing with bird dog ops.

Hi Tom.
Still looking at Bird dog setup for ops.

It is not uncommon that..................... once you find a unsuspecting/hidden talent & attribute of a unit.,.,.,.,., THAT'S where the splitting-of-hairs ...really starts to count. Then............. the next thought is: Will this work for MOST detectorists. If so......... then can we create a factory preset (or Mode) to accommodate?

Few Questions here. Bird Dog ops on Salt beach as far as gold chains and perhaps undetectable chains acting as maskers of say gold rings

Afternoon/Evening/Morning,
Went on a beach today to try it ,i used it as an pinpointer checker for ID.
And i was pleasantly surprised.The big iron are easier to ID almost guessing the shape much easier!That was based on a Beach sens setting and the Big coil
I did plenty checks from my beach programs (i got 2 plus this one 3) .Deep and good ID were 1 22 case deep, and an old £1
More experiments in the pipeline,next is the Thames River (in London) with the 9" coil

I shared the setting with one of my mate who knows the D2 very well,beachcomber in France here is what he has to say thats today so freshly baked out of the oven:
Well it works well in pollution many more targets unmasked....
It gives more reactivity in the analysis of targets close to iron and not only that, in well mineralised black sand it sees more things with hesitating signals at first then while insisting you can pick up the targets
Will try longer and indeed always a quick in-depth analysis so it goes down deep well! On the other hand, no fixed 1 but tid jumps on 1 which effectively if there is discrimination you pass

There are likely indeed some nonferrous target / ferrous masker(s) combos being missed by users of Deus 2. They are being engulfed evidently by the iron tone range of the detector. Users of detector can notch part of iron range and indeed detect some of these targets. I have done few videos and will post links here showing.
