Problems with my 3d if sensitivity above 3

Hello I love my 3-d , however if I go much above 3 with my sensitivity it goes kinda crazy. I have been digging good silver, but I have to keep it at 3 or 3.5. I just recently got Toms DVD Inland coin a relic hunting and I am learning a few new things. I have been using fishers for 20 yrs, (1260,1265,1266x,1270 and 3-d) but still have much to learn.
Thanks Bill

Perhpas its your area or you are not properly ground balancing but usually a setting of close to 5 is the optimum setting for sens.

I have a First Texas CZ-3D That I run between 4-4.5 sens. Anymore than that and if falses some on iron. But at 4 sens, I can still hit a clad dime over 11''.

You could be right, because I often don't feel like I set my ground balance correct. I may need to re-visit how I am ground balancing. I had put my detector down for about a year (very busy with family health issues) so I am a little out of practice. I hope it's me and not the detector. However, just about 5 weekends ago I dug 2 silver dimes, standing liberty quarter and a 1898 barber half all in a just 3 hours. None were more than 8 inches deep. A great day for me anyway.
