True all metal mode

I've read somewhere that the Etrac without any discrimination (open screen) is not really in a true all metal screen or mode, is this true?

Or is the true all mode only on the gold machines?

All metal mode is like PP its not a processed signal. The only thing the machine has to know is there is something metal there. On the Exp. SE AM and PP are both processed to give a TID and tone for the target. Not a lot of difference in depth between AM and PP.

Is the same true for Motion All Metal mode on the F75LTD? Not a true AM mode?

The F 75 has a true all metal mode. Two infact, both stationary and motion.

Using the F 75 in disc mode with disc set at 0 is also a kind of all metal mode but not true.

Thats the type of all metal mode the FBS detectors have. An all open disc mode is a better description.

When I am saying 0 disc on the F 75 you are actually getting signal on smaller bits and lower conductors then the all open disc mode on FBS.

Reason can be many things but one thing is that the FBS is always in salt mode as Tom says and salt balance out in the low + region of the scale.

Monte would probably say that the FBS has a 120 degree visible window and the F 75 has a 180 degree. 180 degree sees all and 120 degree has some disced out even with all open disc.
