good source of research info

Hey guys,I'm in the gold country of NoCal. A lot of these little towns will have a bookstore. I like to look in the local history section. Been able to find quite a few good books written on very localized areas,that are usually written by an old timer who grew up there. Found a lot of good spots this way. The good thing around here,is often its National Forest. I know this isn't earth shattering info,but thought I'd remind tall to hit those little mom n pop book stores.Ray
