White's Spectrum Series vs. G2/Gold Bug Pro

I don't know if anyone has tried this or not, but if took a White's VX3 or V3i and ran it in the 22 kHz frequency alone, would it be as effective in the filed on tiny shallow targets the same way the Gold /Bug Pro or G2 would?

In theory, they should function the same, but I am wondering if anyone has ever tried this.

I say this assuming all machines used the smaller 5" coil or the closest equivalent.
