Used noise cancel #11, audio gain = 30 with the 18”x15” SEF coil, Pro coil, and the Minelab 8” coil. Sensitivity level varied depending on coil.

Over the past 4 weeks, 6 days at the beach only produced a worn, corroded seated quarter, an old silver ring, an old silver heart locket, and 2 other rings. A week of stormy weather, followed by maximum high tides didn’t produce favorable results at this location, nor at the bay mudflats location that produced 2 gold rings in earlier hunts.

The rocky shoreline where modern coins periodically wash-in, was restocked with more coins by these tides. Using Mudder’s boots, was able to harvest the newly washed-in shallow quarters out in the mudflats, as done several months earlier. The flats produced between $5 and $10 in quarters, plus an unexpected 1964 silver Roosevelt dime.

While checking the mudflats-shoreline border for more quarters, stumbled upon a large quarter pocket. This 1 square meter pocket produced between 80 and 100 quarters. The total take for the day was nearly $32 in change, $30.50 was in quarters. This large quarter pocket was located near the penny zone, where countless shallow zinc and copper pennies cover the shoreline. But it was also located near a deep, very nice 18k gold ring find back in 2011.

Hoping someday to locate a shoreline location where, in the past, old coins washed-in ashore and got trapped between the rocks. But because of the overwhelming number of modern coins washing ashore, especially zinc pennies, locating such an area will be very difficult.

Here’s the old silver ring (middle) and the old silver heart locket, along with 2 other rings.

Here are the before and after cleaning photos. Electrolysis, and then a short go in a tumbler cleaned up the old silver.

Above are the 6 coins in a group photo for size comparison.
Below are individual photos for more detail.

The worn down seated quarter is in pretty bad shape.
Below is a foreign copper based coin about the size of a dime. It says “1 cent” at the center right.
The 2 last photos are of a possible coin, about the size of a 3 cent piece. Probably nickel because of the very low 02 conductivity reading in the ground.

Here are photos of other stuff.

Sometimes they can come out of the low tide zone in very good condition, other times, like this, badly pitted on one side, and extremely worn down on the other.

A readable date would have been nice, but, no such luck.
