12 year old boy finds 5.16 diamond in Arkansas state park

Did not even know this park exisited...might have to take my kids there this fall...maybe they will luck up too!!

I planned on taking a trip there last year on the way to Arizona, but my plans changed and never made it there. Many of the largest diamond found have been by kids while their parents were hunting the field for diamonds. One of the largest found there to date was found in the parking lot which is gravel, by a very young child.

Yep kids usually find them there. I remember several years ago, a real young girl found a HUGE canary colored diamond there. I think she was only 2-4 years old, and canary diamonds are rare to find anyway...the sheer size of hers made it even more special. Her parents were actually doing the sifting for diamonds and they let her play in the dirt with her little plastic scoop and plastic bucket while they were intently hunting...and bam...jackpot.
