Very old roofing hammer ????

Dug this while hunting with Old California( Paul). Paul thinks this may be very old because it appears to be hand forged and is lacking a hole for the handle. He thinks the handle my be attached the same way Indians constructed tomahawks.

Appreciate any information and the possible date of the hammer.

I dont know El...Doesnt look practical and if you are in same sight as before,adobe,they would have used clay tile on roofs. Hatchets main use are for shakes...I still use one for that purpose.

Dealthray, It was not at the adobe site we are finding the buttons and coins although Paul did find a very nice Seated Quarter and button. Maybe Paul could post a picture of both with info on them..

El, I had forgotten the site you found this then just now remembered were it came from.

Drove by there last week, The grass took over it's impossible to swing a coil here won't be until late fall early winter before one can get in a decent hunt here.

I found one like that years ago,, I kept it in the shop for a couple of years.
Then one day, I was cleaning out the shop, and tossed it out..
I later saw one posted on a forum, and found out it was old...
Hang on to yours..

Lost the charger to my camera, Of all times usually it surfaces right away still looking for it and as usual will surface when I least expect it.

I believe the button find you are referring too is from another site El and the recent seated from that same site as well, I'll show them to you when we get together soon make it a Deus day.

And Congrats to getting the Deus, In time you will not use another machine trust me the Deus is a that good of machine for our area.
