Tot Lotting with the F75 Ltd

Now and again I like to go and cherry pick a Tot Lot.
There is something about it that is a bit wicked,... like taking candy from a baby.
I do try to redeem myself by also hoovering up the pulltabs and drinkcans.
Got grandkids myself and it's nice to have them play somewhere clean and safe.

So here's my TotLot program for the F75 Ltd
10" Elliptical concentric coil, great for pinpointing, not too much minerals in tot lots.
Disc on factory preset 15, machine doesn't push too mich energy into the ground. Allows working the metal structures.
Sens 45, no need to go ballistic, we're trying for coins, very respectable depth for a cherry pick.
Notch in 1-8, I like to hear the small iron, helps a lot with the bottlecaps.
Notch out 15-25 I'll dig the foil when I get around to it :-)
Ground balance, pump and go
Tones 2F, I like to hear the iron and get a VCO on the targets I'm after. Instant depth judgment and you hit the sweetspot in a swing or 2.
Process I much like the PF process especially on well used Tot lots.

All this creates an easy swing, easy pinpoint, fast intrepetation detector.

This morning I hit a place with several playstructures over sand and dug 11 coins, 6 pulltabs and a few drink cans in a total of 45 minutes.
That's 3 minutes from target to target.

That's why I like a Tot Lot once in a while :-)

I used the 75 almost exclusively in totlots until I replaced it with the Deus.
Both the 10" concentric and 11" DD were very effective.
I would eliminate the notch however. The last good target I dug with the 75 before replacing it was a 10k white gold women's ring (2gr.) with a pink sapphire--hit @ 18 VDI

Remember adults bring the kids so more than one nice adult ring found in these areas, usually adult seating is available so don't forget these areas also....

Remember some mixed targets will lower you VDI so I would not notch out anything

I've just scratched the surface with these settings,.. literally.

Let the pulltab signals be and just floated around hitting coin ID's.
Next week the F19 should arrive,... I'll be looking into those foily and pulltaby signals.

My best jewelry machine was the X-terra 705 with the 10x5" DD 18.75 kHz coil.
It just told me when something was solid, foil had a much larger more broken up signature in all metal.

When you hit these Tot lot's are they wood chips you are digging through? Or ground as I'm sure in my area the way detecting is nowadays young busy body mothers would be calling the cop's on me.

I'm a monday morning guy around the tot lots. Usually in the fall when mom's and dad's are off to work and the kids are in school.
Occasionaly I run into the guys who mow the lawn and keep the place clean.
They never give me any grief and I always have a generous helping of pulltabs in the pouch to show off my "good" intentions.

Hope the F19 wlll talk/ID a little better than the 705.
Iron ID 15 to pulltab 33 is a 17 point difference on the F75.
Iron ID 40 to pulltab 65 is a 25 point difference on the Goldbug Pro.
Iron ID 0 to pulltab 12/14 is a 6 segment difference on the 705, but it had a great all metal/prospecting mode. You could hear the difference between foil and jewelry.

Off to work, trying to earn a living, chainsaw season is nearly upon us!
