Will someone explain the sensitivity set up on the Omeg?????????????

Could someone explain how it works. Maximum sensitivity is 70. after that the threshold is changed. do not understand what they are talking about.. Please explain in depth if you will. and thanks in advance

I will try, from 70 on up is the threshold (gain) size target if you want to find say a dime 9" or so you turn the gain up to make the signal appear larger if you have a test garden with targets 8,9,10" you can experiment to find the best setting to much gain will make it noisy . HH

so in reality the max sensitivity is 70. The detector will go no deeper over the sens. of 70 but the signal just will sound larger????

Sonny

The Omega is not like other detectors that are silent search in disc mode that also have a seperate threshold control which is primarily for use in the all metal mode. On some (certain Tesoro models being a good example of this) you can increase the threshold setting to make the weak signals louder. Making the signal louder thus more distinct to the user is all it does. With the Omega increasing the setting into the threshold area allows weaker signals to report while retaining the modulated softer response.
