F75 LTD speaker not working??

Hi Lads,

Been using my F75LTD lately and just noticed my detector speaker is no longer working.....I hunt with headphones so haven't had the need to run it with just detector speaker.
Wondering if there's anything I can check before I send it in for repair?

The jack still thinks the headphones are plugged in...

If your prone to leaving the headphones plugged up when not in use it will eventually stay open on the contacts..

you can try plugging and unplugging a few times to see if it starrts working..if not open it up and bend the tab back down...

Yes, common problem. Turn the volume to maximum, get the detector making some noise,(eg. pinpoint something close) then plug/unplug the headphones repeatedly, it should start behaving. It's oxide build-up on the metal switching contacts that does it.

Special thank you to Keith Southern and Pimento for taking the time to answer my question.......yes gentlemen you have solved my problem,I now have sound on my detector speaker...happy camper
