This is a custom LCD and not a color one... the only difference is that we have a backlight in this model that is different that the other custom LCDs in the market.

Thank you! FYI - The updated FORS will ship to Kellyco next week.

Nokta is surely going to have the benefit of the old american saying " hype "

For sure.

Good looking XP functioning detector with what seems like first texas display user information.

Might be good.ยจ

Hey Nokta, care to give a word on how it is different?

It has all the options of the Fors Core. It is in a better package, because as I said before the Fors is not a mudder. I know the frequency will be different so it will hit targets different. I am really not impressed with the depth of the Fors at all. I wanted that iron hunter with a deeper punch than the Deus and the Fors is not that detector. If this Racer does not hit deeper than the Fors I think all you excited people that are giving up on the F75 LTD2 are going to be really disappointed. As Keith stated a few times the special part of the Fors Core is in the small coil. After some hunts under my belt I have to agree. The small coil is what makes the detector special. To be honest a small coil from Deus would knock the snot out of the Fors Core. JMHO.

Hey Nokta,What about us lefty's....noticed the 4 way buttons are all on the left hand side of the detector head....going to be tough to get our left thumb on the control buttons.
Just sayingsmiling smiley
It does look like a sweet machine...I like da red...being a Cannuck and all.

I am plenty happy with FORS performance myself. I have not owned a VLF detector that goes deeper since my Compass Gold Scanner Pro in 1990. As far as I am concerned anytime "VLF" and "more depth" occur in the same sentence I am being sold a bill of goods. If I want more depth, the only way I know to get it is fire up a PI. But as we all know that comes with its own cost.

Right now I would just welcome an affordable nicely packaged reliably performing detector from a company that actually seems to want my business. And honestly, that is probably all you can hope for here. It is a metal detector, not a magic wand!

Goodmore, there are 2 detectors I'm not getting rid of. The deus because its software is upgradeable. And the F75 because of its ergonomics and AM function. The rest I have may go. And as a matter a fact the next detector I buy will have to have software upgrade capability and be pretty darn good right from the start. I'll bet right now within the next 3 years time there will be at least 3 released with the capability. Let's see how close I am in my prediction. I figure White's and Minelab. The 3rd one I'm not sure who will build it.

I also have two detectors that I will never get rid of. The Deus and the Sovereign GT. I love the Sovereign on the beach. The Fors is going up for sale shortly. I will wait for that deep puncher. Maybe something from AKA. And while I am very certin that PI detectors are deep I also know that there are striking differences between VLF detectors. Some people are after gold. Some hunt coins and others anything old. I have used quite a few detectors in the past. Some better than others for my needs. And my needs are not satisfied with the Fors Core. I hope people hopping on the wagon take the time to wait for some field reports before they purchase any detector. At one time this was a forum of data and facts. Lately it has been the forum of the wagon riders. People saying they want one before any data is released on a detector is just silly to me.

Cabin fever, too much holiday cheer, they won some lottery, wife said yes to a new machine,
when they look at the Racer, they see this and just fantasize about the performance...........

But the Deus still wouldn't be able to ID anything worth a flip still....Aluminum would still be the memesis. The Notka has the best TID I've ever seen even against the ML machines.

Jack ...how does the fors id screw caps (thunderbird n nighttrain, lol) vs. coins?
Re: Wow, Racer looks sweet!
December 31, 2014 12:51PM
Rusty bottle caps do what they should, sound like iron, crackle/break up, aluminum screw on caps if they are less than a couple of inches make the machine overload. Just lift the coil slightly and it will sound like a good target then but will be a jumpy TID most of the time. If it is mashed flat you just might dig it provided it's over a couple of inches. Just my findings. My rusty bottle caps being dug have essentially disappeared, not digging them and they are everywhere. I see them on the ground.

Ok....was hoping for some magic, lol. Theres a ghetyo park we call Wino Park. Cant move the coil an inch without hitting them, but beautiful coins are there. Best Unit for me was Sovrreign w 5"Sunray.

Now what do you need a Racer for............? LOL

Looks to me it has auto tracking ground balance. Pull the toggle, bounce the coil a few times, when you get a beep, your GB'd.

will it have an option for a 'running' depth indication? lots of times I will only want to go after conductors deeper than 5" or so....

really appreciate that it has a 'real' analog volume control....
Re: Wow, Racer looks sweet!

The racer is sounding very interesting can't wait for the specs. Hope it's a depth monster. These higher frequency machines seem to punch deep. Which gets me to thinking that if someone made a dual/multifrequency machine running on say 20-25khz that could handle salt sand they'd have a killer beach machine for those elusive gold chains that we all know are there but the available dedicated beach machines are small gold dead.
