Will the Racer save your settings? (or does the core)

maybe I missed it in reading over the manual quickly but I am curious if the racer will save your setting when you shut the machine off? I guess I should say, does the core

There is a way to save your settings with the Fors Core. I am not sure about the Racer

On the CoRe there's really none to save. So simple and powerful and just plain dayum works. No smoke and mirrors or trick ponies here. Just a detector that puts the rest to shame. If it's like the CoRe that is.

I'm surprised that big box doesn't have room for nvram....should be standard....turn-on and go is a good thing....

Correct...you can save your settings on the CoRe but not on the RACER but RACER settings are all on 1 screen and very easy to change.

There is actually an owners manual online. It says setting for backlight and depth meter (inches or centimeters) is saved.

Since there is nothing to program there is no program to save. Basic procedure will be turn detector on, choose mode, set sensitivity, ground balance, go detect.

i saw it saved the depth in inches in the manual steve but didnt see where it said backlight settings would be saved. i thought i read it transfered over to other programs if you selected another..guess i just misread as I was kinda flipping through...so i am assuming the machine defaults to all metal when turned on?

Default mode is two tone (ferrous/non-ferrous) mode.

Interesting that it apparently has some nvram if it can save backlight stettings, and depth preference, so why not save the rest of the setup?

I like the questions. I am learning myself. You ask one I don't know, I go find it. Works for both of us. However, functions are almost identical to the CoRe. Anyone using one will know other instantly. I assumed two tone was default since that is what it is on CoRe, but then I had to look to make sure.

Did you look at the manual, Steve, or at your shiny brand new Racer? <wink>

To avoid misundertsanding - you cannot save your search settings on the RACER but vibration, backlight and unit system (cm/inch) settings can be saved.
However, RACER has all settings on 1 screen and it is very easy to change them.
