Dude, call Rob's detectors out of Az. Or Chris Ghoulson at arizona outback. Dont know why anyone would buy THAT machine from someone who doesnt make a living off prospecting. Ray

Michigan Relic Hunter's feature chart shows that it only runs in all metal. I'm sure it's great for prospectors, but as a relic hunter I don't want to dig square nails 40% deeper than the GPX.

For the price of 9,999.00 I would want a detector to find and signal on "Gold Only" and no other metals, entirely too much money. It appears to be a vlf/pi built together by the brochure. Maybe the screen has ferrous/non ferrous id. At least for the VLF portion. At any rate I am sticking with my gpx4000 and GB2 for now, they are paid for.

Most of the very serious prospectors WILL buy one.

I'm understanding now that the $10,000 is AUD which comes out to about what I figured for USD...around $8000 bracket for MAP and should have a street price of around $7,000. Thus why it's probably called the GPZ 7000.

Interesting machine. My hats off to Mr. Bruce Candy. Seems he's always comes up with a newer technology. Is it a pulse machine or a hybrid? That super D coil is interesting. From what I gather it acts like a twin DD coil down to a certain depth. I would love to try one of these machines on the salt beach. But $7000 is outta my budget at this time. Can't wait to hear what Steve H has to say when he can say it.

Thanks John

I'm heading to a plastic surgeon today so I can hopefully buy one with my good looks!! : ) All joking aside I think that price is ridiculous for a PI machine give me an infinium at a fraction of the price. If I was a gold hunter the GB2 would be my choice after seeing how well it works on small gold and I could swing it a lot longer too!! 7.3 lbs would get heavy quickly!!

Deathray - My mistake. A couple days ago the price was $10,000 AUD and the simple conversion to USD was what we were figuring it to be. PM incoming.

$9999.00 ouch!! Next we'll see minelab financing. Hey a minelab credit card would look pretty cool haha. I guess if your a serious gold hunter it's just a tool for the job. But Definatly outta hobby range unless your very well off.

Me tinks it's called:" Mine de Miners"
Re: GPZ 7000

I think Minelab knows to push the price envelope everytime. Each time, everyone screams thats to much...then it proves itself and sells well. Me, I will stick with my gp extreme and various vlf's ,at least for now. I do know a few guys that probably will get one,and if they kill it on old patches..nah,would rather stay married, lol.

Wow! Sticker shock alright, but if you compare it to top of the lime products for a lot of other hobbies it really is not out of line. What is the tag on the best camera, racing bike or golf clubs? Even gaming computers, high end TVs and cell phones top out pretty pricey. It is not going to be added to my collection anytime soon unless the wife has a life insurance policy I don't know about. ;-)

Is this machines frequency running on a very high khz 250-500-750? Or 1 ghz? Hope someone can shed some light on this technology.
