and drinking my coffee. Clear choice commercial for new chompers comes on ....and its that Chicago Ron dude,lol. Caught me by surprise.

A guy has to make a living somehow and his first gig (Dig Wars) on TV flopped after 6 episodes. That ¼ million dollars worth of gold jewelry he claimed to have found on the show must have run out. The whole crew, Chicago Ron, Mike Scott, Larry Cissna, and Ron's buddy from Chicago sold all metal detectorists down the drain for 6 episodes of a lame TV show!....I could go on to say shame on Garrett for supporting the "Diggers" TV show!

I tried to watch that show but there was too much "na nana na na's" and a particular grown man that owns another forum and site that seemed to "butt slap" himself a lot. Even my wife that was watching said to me " I'm embarrased for you" I always respected Ron's vids though. I'm also sure most of them were told to act stupid on camera - and most were....

Dont get me wrong...Im not knocking Ron..hey,we all gotta make a living..just caught me by surprise. Anyone who wants to see a REAL exciting detecting video, I highly recomend California Relic Adventures by my buddy Ron Swenson and Mark Dayton. Unbelievable finds and damn good quality videos. Ray

Wonderfull live digs too! They must edit a lot to get the good ones on film...... All of their finds are top shelf, there has to be some duds in there because most of my finds are duds, Great research is the Key to the fabulous finds they are making.

I understand that FT is bringing Todd Hoffman on board to help Mike Scott out.

But don't be too hard on Chicago Ron or any of the notorious Dig Wars 6. If it hadn't been them the producers would have chosen six others. There is no shortage of people willing to demean themselves for the opiate of fame. Even a minor bit of fame.

There's one way for sure Dig Wars was better than Diggers...only six episodes!

I can barely stand to look at Todd Hoffman, let alone watch that show.
I prefer to look for my own gold. Going to Nome in June for a few weeks. Probably wont find a lot, but will have fun nonetheless..........

Ray, just curious if Ron is the same 'Ron Swenson' involved in Solar issues in Santa Cruz? I met that one years ago when I lived there...

I saw one show where they had a Garrett doing a little prospecting. Then you'll see a hat from time to time. So I think he's been had by Garrett? He wears a Garrett hat a lot. I noticed that the hats sometimes are switched out from shot to shot. Once you notice it you'll never miss it again.

Not that I know of. Ron is from Sac area...goes by Ron (ca) on forums with a superman avitar.

I wont notice it...cause I wont watch that phony b.s. Cant stand him or that screachy voice old goat.

Isn't Ron the guy from the old forums who would rag on others who used CZs? Didn't he accept a challenge from a CZ user to go against his own XLT? I believe the CZ found 3 times the number of good tagets and he was humiliated....

If I'm ot mistaken, this event took place in San Francisco, CA.

I think your talking about Ron Swenson with an explorer vs.Tom Tanner with whites Eagle in SF. I believe thats when Tom switched to explorer. Dont recall anyone around here using cz's.

Yes, it was Tom. his opponent did use a CZ. If I remember right, he was from out of own.
