Would like to see a detector maker develop....

a rod on their detectors where the handle angle is adjustable. There already may be some I'm unaware of. But some of the more expensive detectors you would think deserve the extra feature. Shouldn't be hard to design. May add a tad more weight, but I think it might be a good sacrifice. And would allow adjustment to maybe offset balance when changing coils. Like that take out a second mortgage GPZ 7000. For that kind a money it definitely should have such a feature.

I would like to turn the head as to see it square on too.

Agree, a pod angle/display adjustment. Might do wonders for reducing glare too.
And just think a maker could in fact make the rod as such so a customer could in fact only have to buy the new components- say the pod/display and the coil(s) and cable. So in doing this overall price reduction could be achieved and the customer/user still retains the adjustments without having to pay. A rod with like "plug and play" with the needed adjustments remaining intact. A win win for everyone.

I would like to see a metal detector have bluetooth capabilities or something that can turn your phone into the user interface and be able stay charged using the detectors battery. Or possibly devoloping an app that would allow the the phone to be the brains of the machine.

And just think, this invention would on a great detector breed brand loyalty. And save folks and manufactures money on shipping cost with repairs. Upgrading to the latest and greatest new releases, would be cheaper. Nokta/Makro, I hope you see this.

As long as we're using smart phones we could have voice commands. Disc pattern 2, sesititivty 27 and Mayo on the side..... We could watch youtube videos of metal detecting while metal detecting with our metal detectors finding metal.

While we are at it, might as well add a camera implemented into the detector head. One that could tilt to not only allow for straight on filming, but hole side view!! Cameras are getting so small yet with great definition and capabilities...

Get out of the box!
I want a detector that doesn't require sweeping.
I figure a detector with a wireless DD coil with an adjustable rotation of that coil should do it with the changing axis of the coil replacing the sweeping motion. Just straight ahead movement--a 24" coil should be possible with 18" depth. Use it for digging post holes on the weekend. smiling smiley

I like that! I'm tired of fiddling with my camera in making videos.

If they did we would be forced to watch 10 minutes of previews each time we hit the power button!

I'm surprised this hasn't been done. A set-up where you buy the coil and rod assembly and attach your phone. This is already done in other areas (like thie iRig for guitar).
