F75: Extremes can be counter-productive.

IMO, using the F75 with 99 sens in BP is a waste of time, IF the park contains moderate to heavy trash. Things like can slaw, iron flakes, small lead, and other small metalic particles all are "Super-Amplified" when using such settings. The ground minerals also become amplified to an extent. Not only does this cause "audio fatigue", but most of your finds become masked(Hidden from your detector). VDI numbers jump around like crazy as well.

A wise man once said, "If a 8" coil can 'see' a one gallon volume of dirt and the 11" coil (not 10.5") can 'see' 7 gallons of dirt at any given time, it is a fact that you are 7 times more likely to 'mask' a object with the larger coil, especially in trashy areas." Now, add max sensitivity AND a BP, and this is where "Super-Masking" appears.

I air tested a copper coated steel BB(from an air gun). Some wondered why I did this. Two reasons, to show how sensitive the f75 is, and to make people aware that if the f75 can see this small object, then it can mask with such small objects too.

So what should you do? In trashy areas, less is more. Small coil, less sensitivity, and a slower sweep speed will begin to bring targets to light.

Fast Audio(If available) is also a great choice. This was my number one reason for the upgrade(well, new unit for me). I had to have it as it is an extremely vaulable tool for unmasking. Pair it with the 5" coil and it's like a surgeons scalpel in trash.

"Super Amplified" may be exactly what I have been experiencing. My recent post describes what i was dealing with. Good post!

you pretty close to me. I am in Stroudsburg Pa. lots of decent colonial sites within shooting distance of you.

3 tone, bp 0-40 sensitivity. Note, the new LTD2 can hit a buried(mild groun) 7" dime in bp with ZERO sensitivity setting with out all the flakey chirping of tones on every spec of conductivity

You ever heard of Cruikshank Brother's ketchup? I dug an old bottle cap said that on it last year. I googled it and found that it was another company that made ketchup here in da Burgh a long time ago.
I plan to hit a park this weekend with the brand new T2. I'm gonna try it with DST on bp low disc and high sens, but I'm gonna use the little 5" coil and swing slow. We'll see how that goes.

Discrimination is the root of all evil.

If you read my post on hunting with the T2SE2 for the first time I ended up using the FA mode. It was fast and less deep. I that trashy park I did not need deep Ia need resolving power. I think the wet soil even compounded it more I also left sen at default. I hated FA when testing at home but in the park over real ground with junk and targets it made perfect sense. I think next time I may reduce sensitivity even more.
