Navy Eagle Coat Button w/13 Stars ;-)

F19 slammed this eagle button (eagle clutching an anchor) on an 1860s site today but unfortunately it has no back so I don't know who made it :-(

Quick 1.5 hr hunt today running V Break at 29 again and disc at 0 and she hit hard even at 7 or 8 inches deep...

Nice button. Did you coat it with a clear finish?

Nice finds Wayne...

that button is 1900's style .. the back is missing usually as they rust out...they were tin...

Navy buttons are hard to distinguish they were same designs forever...And civilians copied them to..they usually got the tin backs...look in the back of yours and see if you see rust...Or take a pic...if it was brass it could maybe be a WW1..

I like that pewter spoon...!!!

Heres a WW1 type

Yours looks a whole lot better than mine. I’ve been soaking it for a few months, but it still looks the same. This one had a quarter signal.

Congrats on the finds.

Digs alot that button you have looks like a Marine Button...Possible pre WW1...

hard to tell right now with just a wing tip showing...

you have the anchor straight up it should be more leaning like this like this..This is one is about 1900 here..
