Ground balance question, not manual, in auto....

Most of us hunt in heavy trash. I always "try" to pick a clean spot to GB, or as clear as I can. If you GB say at one spot and get a number then do it again at virtually the same spot, it seems, and the number is 10,20,30 points difference. It's very hard to get something consistant in heavy trash. Are we getting a true GB. Now if not and you are in auto will the GB eventually catch up? I've noticed at times when a machine is in heavy trash and you hit that priced trash free spot and GB, the machine characteristics change a good bit after that. Usually quiets down some.

Detectors used
Nokta FoRs CoRe, Makro R1, Makro R2X2, ETrac, 3030, Compadre, several others.

I usually just manually set a safe guess value until I find a clean spot.
