I predict that in the next five years the American Flag will be viewed as racist and demeaning, as interpreted by a few select individuals and be removed

I predict in the next ten years (or less) the United States Constitution will be condemned as unconstitutional and demeaning and be revoked/removed

I predit in the next fifteen years (or less) the sovereign borders of the United States will be ruled racist, ameria-centric, and demeaning and be abolished

I predict in the next twenty years what is left of this country will be a third-world crime-ridden sewer (a full-scale model of Detroit); most descent people will have fled to Canada, Australia, or Europe to be free.

I predict in the next twenty-five years America will no longer exist as a separate country but will be a loose conglomeration of lawless communist/socialist banana surfdoms, each pit in violent war with the other

Hoow many people actually believe that were it not for the Civil War slavery would still exist today? It was a horrible period in American history and the American south, but it certainly does not define the country. Those who choice to do that continue to enslave themselves for the "sins of the fathers". If the flag offends you, don't look at it. In a free society you do not have the right not to be offended! Saying that, definitely a public building that is open to everyone and supposed to be inclusive does not have the right to offend anyone. Take those flags down!!

I'm amazed that you have friends. Usually, people that are in a small hobby like metal detecting, will share other common interests and views. Not the case here at all. I would give the shirt off my back to help a stranger in need if they needed it worse than I. But a couple of ya'll here...I wouldn't piss on if you were in a ditch on fire.

Ozzie, the bright side is that today's ruling on Obamacare took the Confederate flag out of the headlines.

And tomorrow's ruling on Gay marriage will take today's Obamacare ruling out of tomorrow's headlines...

I'm from Canada but sure would not suggest what Americans do with their flags, how would we react if they told us to get rid of our Maple Leaf flag.

Deathray, one never really understands the local culture living three years on a U.S. military base but I figure you've got your mind made up about the lazy Germans, lazy Brits, lazy Dutch, etc. It's too bad your experiences overseas were negative.

You mean the programs that kept America in a depression up until WWII? They worked about as well as the CRAP our current administration has been doing for the past six years.

Crosby, you must know more about depression economics than anyone else alive. There is still debate today about causes of the 1937 recession but there is little debate about the benefits of the specific New Deal programs related to the poor.

You want to put hard core conservative monitory policies in place? Win a presidential election. Good luck with that.

What ever happened to the Tea Party and their focus on monitory policy? They're like children today, always chasing after the next shiny thing...

I learned German in college but it hurt my vocalization/speaking , but hey , some of my best friends are German.
One in particular I would trust with my life . When the German State tested him as young lad and told him he would become either a millwright or a cabinet maker because he was beneath any other occupation , he immigrated at 18 to the US where he could be an individual instead of a ward to a socialist state. Became a citizen the right way , joined the service(Army) to defend his new country from another form of socialism and has been a productive member of society for the last 50 years. Hates Germany but still forces himself to visit family there every few years. The Fatherland's loss.
I trust his opinion much more than your bias.

Judging by recent Presidential elections and national polls on social issues conservatives are the minority. So wouldn't it be easier if they left the country? Why do they always want the liberals to leave? Things are finally shaping up and looking good.

Ray....is it obama and CONgress that are destroying this country, or the ones who OWN obama and CONgress that are doing so ? Behind every puppet show, there is a puppet master. The latest screw show is this trade agreement. What benefit does it have for the American people ? NONE ! Check out what Disney did by replacing AMERICAN workers with foreigners. And the American workers had to train them prior to being fired.

My take on this flag thing...it's a non-starter. Should have never been put into the equation. Another diversion tactic from the powers that be to try to make the sheep look any other way than to the true problem...our financial system and the economy of the U.S.A....which is in the toilet.

In all seriousness ozzie, I used to think the same of Right Wing Nut Jobs. But that brand of hard-core conservatism is waning today as Goodmore has correctly stated. The GOP civil war continues to rage and it's likely that the rational Moderates will again come out on top.

Confederate flag... Obamacare... Gay marriage. If this were baseball the RWNJs would be called out on strikes.

And some of us wonder why our Congressional leaders can't work together to get anything done.
