Has anybody tried it? What were your results/conclusions?

Thx

I tired it but it didn't seem to hit on the same targets that the twp ton hit on

It will be desensitized to low conductors..

the Ground bal range changes..

Wet salt and Bad dirt are two different spectrums..

The Racer's beach mode may well work good in an alkali desert ghost town though eh?

Yes in Alkali dirt it MAY be of use...But would be GOLD DEAD..

I tried Beach on one of my badly mineralised sites.
While it worked, I couldn't see benefit to it.
Signals weren't improved and iron rejection was bad.
Remember, Beach Mode defaults to 40 so has to be manually reduced.

On an X-Terra 705 it's Beach Mode can operate inland and as an 'added benefit' and an unplanned
one at that it does a terrific job of rejecting iron especially very old iron but still showing strong
magnetic effect.

I hope this helps some?

I'm departing tomorrow on an 8 day ghost town detecting (and sifting too probably) trip and one of the sites I will hunt was a borax and salt mine. I detected there with my F75 and it did fine, so I suspect the Racer will also do fine, and probably find more. I hunted another site that was much higher in mineral salts and the F75 was all about useless there, I suspect a multi-frequency machine would've been required to successfully detect that site.

For whatever it's worth, I noted when my coil started overloading at a gain over 39 in the 3 other modes, I could run beach up into the 90's. Drop ID down to 5 and was able to salvage some use out of the machine. Hope it helps someone who runs into trouble once it starts getting cold.

Beach modes usually have some signal attenuation also..so gain reduction in sensitivity could very well stop overload..

yet remember it comes at a price..
