CTX update coming...?????

I saw a dealer say such on another forum.

Is he blowing smoke or is it true..


They provided no details though--- just his lips were sealed.

Hi shooter, is the CTX about the same as the DEUS ? If so I know the DEUS has a update coming in 2016. Is the CTX updateable? Might be the same update.

Part of this update is to improve the VDI's. I seen a post by Andy S. that said it had a lot more than he expedited. I have had mine for 5 weeks now and have found 5 rings and lodes of money. If the updates make it better I will quit my job and just detect . I have not read much about the CTX, I guess I should at least read about it some. I had a friend that used the DEUS and was beating me every hunt with the Deus. I got tired of that so I got one and now keepen up with him or doing better than him.

As they say..... dont quit your day job. Im lucky I guess being retired and living near th beach. Ive not met anyone making a living just detecting..... including the homeless guy who detects on CWB lol.

Why the secrecy? If a dealer made a post on a public forum, he has a reasonable expectation to be quoted.

They are a sponsor it seems on Friendly forum.
And by the way they post-- seems they are a dealer of sorts.

I'm cautious about bringing certain things here to this forum.

Don't want to offend anyone.

So now everyone knows where I saw this

Tnns-----Well----I received your P.M.---but---I didn't see anything in it about a CTX update.---The link you provided to the post/thread said it was on page three??-----It looked to me like the conversation was about "upgrading" (or not upgrading) from an Etrac to a CTX.----Maybe I missed it but if you are going to make a post like this regarding a possible CTX upgrade coming---you might want to provide that link here so all the members can see it/what you are talking about.----------Del

Some folks have said in the past they don't care about the going ons on other forums.

Treasure hunter.... works with Kelleyco. He posts on most forums. Moderator on treasure net in the beach forum. Dave and Berry who do repairs there may well have told him. I can say TH is a reliable source of info.

You may be on to something.

And I feel some other manufacturers are putting heat on them as well, namely Xp.

Just think, this promotional sale of CTX with the BIG coil,,. Why????

And remember White's did something similar back in the summer with V3i.

Maybe Xp will do a promotional. Buy. the detector with 11" coil and get the new 6x9 for free... Lol

Seriously seems manufactures are jostling for sales.

And just think what kind of dough Minelab has been making by selling the 17" coil separately!!!!!

I know the older generation folks--- a lot them have migrated to Deus vs the boat anchors....

The last thing Minelab should be doing is keeping it quiet. They should be advertising the hell out of it. Long overdue. False promises. False advertising. Many phrases have been used through the years. But in the end what could the update be but more bells and whistles? More bins? Personally I'll be shocked if one is released.

Well its not like ML to not promote the heck out of anything new.......... they normally start months in advance building it up. Makes you wonder how big of an impact its really going to have.

We are one big happy family here.
I try to post things that maybe can help folks and keep them abreast.

But as the ole saying goes.
You certainly can" t believe everything that' s said or written.

We have a pretty good policing force here it seems to root out the gibberish.

One of the reasons I like this forum.

"and pricing."???? Minelab, are you freaking serious? I guess you think your going to be close to on top forever? With crappy mechanical upgrades and no, repeat NO digital software updates for months, it's easy to see why others are choosing other manufacturers.
