........A different post segues perfectly into THIS question:
Coil weight.
How many folks would be willing to put-up-with/tolerate a coil that is a few ounces heavier.....that presents better 'depth & sensitivity' performance? OR........ would you prefer a ultra-light coil with a bit less performance?
(((Yes..... 'vague' terms.......,,,,,,,,,, understood!)))

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. That info was NOT supposed to leak out.
Yes. There are a few proto's floating around. Here's one tidbit I'm willing to share: --- As to be expected; the 9" coil is not as deep as the standard 11" coil......with identical settings. BUT.......(for instance)........ in a wet-salt environment.........the performance is less than the 11" coil with same sett

Good video. Have you had a chance to take the Nexus to an area whereby......targets are not few-and-far-in-between? Yes, sparse/single/solo targets are a good way to learn the unit. . . . . . especially with it's depth capabilities.

Manticore accessory coils are RELEASED. In production. Production volume of these coils....is also increasing . , . , . , . , . for those who are interested.

Bullseye!
Yes...... let me know of your findings/results......if you wrap the metal part of the coil connector in rubberized tape. I wonder if Gorilla Glue makes a elastimeric thick rubber!?
You 'could' use RTV blue........ and RTV the metal connector; yet, this methodology is messy; yet, more permanent.

You guys are bringing up some valid points.
Digital algorithms can do some really superior stuff.......that analog is not privy to.
BUT........ analog has hair-splitting control abilities........ especially with old-fashioned vernier dials/controls.
Analog usually requires more battery-power........ which (in general) can create a lower susceptibility to EMI
There can be a lot of filters in

It's crazy to think the Gold Bug-2 is a 30-year old platform..........analog (without any form of High Resolution Iron Discrimination control) .......... and still handles iron with reasonable/formidable preciseness. A lot of this has to do with the high Operating Frequency.

Ron......... I'm just glad that you have 'some' access to the forum.
Security settings seem to be one of the major factors/problems with accessing this web-site.

I just found one of my old/analog Fisher Gold Bug-2 metal detectors in my inventory. I performed all of the tests that I have (watched videos) on the Nexus. The Gold Bug-2 passed all tests with flying colors......to include: a nail ELEVATED above the dime. BUT....... it does look like the Nexus presents a bit better audio resolution ......(at least.....from what I can see/tell.....in a video). Th

Bottle caps are an interesting thing. They are 'sheet steel'...... and can VERY easily false to "coin" ID/readings. I am not a strong proponent to using bottlecaps for any test(s).......... unless it is to see/verify that a unit can indeed ID them as ferromagnetic/iron.

Shelton......... I just watched all 3 of your newest videos. I must NOT be communicating my words correctly!
I am NOT asking how "fast" the recovery speed is....between targets ..... with the Nexus.
I am asking how slow the coil can be swept over a (barely Discriminated) nail................ especially with the nail NOT centered under the coil..........BUT/RATHER........ the TIP of

Dan....... I know EXACTLY where you are coming from! But...... I must say....... Shelton's latest video (above) certainly has merit. If the V3 did NOT pass that elevated 3-dimensional test....... there is a substantially less likeliness that it would ALSO fail in dirt.
I am still wondering if the TIP of the coil (or the heel of the coil) will 'false' on nails. . . . . . . . . e

No..........you are fine. You are not putting words into my mouth.
BUT:
Before I would be interested in testing one.......... a few prerequisites must be met.
1. Genuinely knowing how the unit performs....... (with nails being JUST BARELY Disc'd out.....with the existing faster coil sweep-speed that is already being used/demonstrated/video-recorded).......... how the detector responds to

Wow. I just don't know how to tip-toe around this one anymore. . . . . . . . . . especially when (irrefutably/undeniably) put-on-the-spot.
My base-platform is: being TOTALLY honest................. never to deviate.
Yet, stand up for Minelab........especially for as much time/engineering/money/resources/passion that has gone into Manticore project.
Manticore coils have a floating groun

Good video. Yes......... I can see/witness/feel your learning-curve. In fact......... I almost feel I could start calling some of the shots........through your videos.
It's probably good that your initiation is taking place in an area whereby.......targets are sparse/few-far in-between. Cutting your teeth in carpets-of-nails is nearly an exercise-in-futility.........and ear-bashing painful

Shelton........ BEST video (thus far)! THANK YOU for putting so much time/labor/effort into this video!!!
My biggest concern is: What is the Nexus detectors audio response on ONLY a nail......when the coil is swept
1. VERY slow
2. Slow
3. Medium slow
4. Medium speed
5. Medium/fast speed
........... and especially when the coils toe and heal (((tip of the coil........and rear of the co

Let me know if you find it................... AND................ (I think) there is a caveat. The first several times I tried it.......... it would ONLY work if I manually typed out the full web-site address. After a dozen times.........then (and only then) could I click on the auto-populate short-cut address that would show up...when I would start to type the web-site addy.

Sounds like the Tarsacci was not hindered by the dirt/mineralization; yet/but, by EMI issues. Did you try different Freq's? Don't be afraid to run Sens on 3 or 4 !!!

FINALLY......... I have watched all 3 videos. (I like the last video the best)!
ALL of my concerns (in the above post) are still valid. The only other additional concerns that I have (after watching the videos) is:
* Once you (just barely) set Disc just above iron/nails ((so as to get rid of them))........... how does the unit respond to nails with a SLOWER COIL SWEEP-SPEED? How does the un

Several RANDOM thoughts:
1. With you saying that I am the BOSS of this forum................ has NOTHING to do with my determination and concern about/over your detector.
2. I am HONO
