I just spoke with a dealer about ordering an Equinox 800 and he told me because of the high demand and limited supply it would be months before I could get one.
Maybe I'll pick up an elliptical coil for the Deus.

I have found a couple of women's gold & platinum rings in the grass where parents sit to watch the games or grassy areas around tot lots where they sit to watch their kids play.
On the grass fields, those used for soccer and baseball, I have found larger men's gold rings. A couple of those were near the moveable soccer goals. Maybe they fall off when they are moving the soccer

Kevin - You should watch this youtube video by Gerry's Detectors showing how the 705 can be programmed to maximize ring finds while knocking out some common pull tabs.
The G2 and F75 are also great on rings.

Do you mind sharing your Deus settings for your tight quarter window program? Almost all of my hunting is done in newer parks and school fields. I don't have a lot of hours on my Dues and am not getting many quarters.
Thanks,
Bart

Thanks LowBoy. I've enjoyed reading your posts and watching your videos over the years. I'm in El Dorado Hills, which isn't too far from your neck of the woods.
There are so many things to like about the Deus, but the one thing it doesn't have (in my very limited experience) is a consistent accurate target ID. My F75 and Safari that I traded towards the Deus purchase had

Although there's A LOT to love about the Deus, the tones just aren't clicking for me and I've come to the realization that I'm much more of a "target ID" hunter than a "tone" hunter. Most of the time I get out detecting it's only for an hour or so, and maybe that's why I'm not grasping the Deus language.
Anyway… if there are any CTX owner

With the computerized lunch systems at schools, kids don't use cash to buy snacks or lunches any more. They all have lunch accounts that are funded by parent deposits.

That's a very 'chatty' hunt. Kind of surprising that Garrett would want a video showing their new detector making all that noise.
I'm still amazed how quiet the G2 can run at near maximum sensitivity in places where my F75 does its best imitation of Rice Krispies -- snaps, crackles & pops.
So.. Here's my wish list for the next flagship unit from Fisher - I'

Hey LowBoy - I just noticed this detector on the KellyCo site and watched the beach video.
Looks like amazing technology with 3D imaging.
Check out their videos too:

Last week I took my G2 out on the beach in Oxnard (So. Cal.) for a couple of hours. It ground balanced at around 4 in the wet salt sand and ran smoothly. But... I didn't find any targets. I assumed that running balanced and at 90+ sensitivity it would be getting good depth and I just didn't swing over any targets. But after reading Tom's comments above, now I'm wondering i

Lawrenzo,
Thanks for posting the VDI numbers for those rings. The smallest rings my wife has come in at 52, so I set my disc at 50. Digging all the foil and can slaw at schools and parks gets tedious at times, but $5,000 worth of rings is a lot of incentive to keep digging those low numbers.
Looking forward to more of your great videos. We're pulling for you LowBoy!

Thanks for the excellent/encouraging report Keith. Makes me feel even better about placing my order yesterday for a new G2. Ordered from Detector Depot -- nice deal and nice folks!. Because I have an F75, I wasn't sure if the G2 would be able to find anything that F75 wouldn't. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed so that it doesn't rain on Christmas day so I can get out and

Max,
Thanks for the reports. Do you think there would be any advantage moving from an F75 ( original, not LTD) to the G2? I like the fact that it seems to run quieter, but was wondering if it wouldn't match the depth that the F75 has. I also thought the G2 might hit some smaller jewelry that the F75 would miss.
Thanks,
Bart

I didn't think my F75 would miss any gold rings - small chains maybe, but not rings.
Do you think it's missing some?
