There are frequent ordnance finds on the shores of Bedford basin, these are left overs from the "Halifax Explosion", while the history of said items is pretty cool, RCMP are notified and the Fleet Diving Units EOD Team comes and deals with whatever it was. Some of those items are very much still LIVE. Although we've never got to keep one, or even received an inert souvenir as a th

How about finding out if one of the detectorists on this or other forums is EOD trained, current or former service. They could advise on how to appropriately handle the relic/device, and the "most likely" risks to be encountered. Finding historical items is a genuine thrill but is NEVER worth exposure to catastrophic risk to yourself or others!

My brother in-law has recently upgraded his hearing aids, his new ones are "Bluetooth" enabled. This allows him more convenient cell usage. My point: does the Deus not use "Bluetooth" for communication between coil, controller, and phones? If so, could a person with "Bluetooth" h/aids tie into they're Deus for enhanced target audio?
Just a thought.

In 2007, the Royal Canadian Mint released an extremely limited number of the largest legal tender coins in the world: a 220-pound (100-kilogram) gold bullion piece with a face value of one million Canadian dollars. Certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest gold coin, the amazing million-dollar pieces are composed of 99.999% pure gold.

Have any of the multi detector users on here ever tried out the "Nexus Standard SE". It claims to be the deepest VLF type machine on the market. Wondering how it stacks up compared to a Blisstool or a big coiled F75LTD. I figure with the way everyone has been drooling over the Deep Tech machines that this might add some other flavour/perspective to the discussions. Or possibly drive Kev

You guys need to "get out more", this detector has been out for a while, very popular in Europe. Here's a review from "Garys detecting"
If you troll around his site a bit there is a comprehensive listing of many detectors he's reviewed.
Keith, Kevin et al if you find the DTV RG1000 an interesting machine then you'll probably like the "Rutus Jupiter"

A properly seated o-ring, clean, with clean mating surfaces, should work as advertised to rated depth (10 ft). Rinsing the detector with a garden hose or even a vigorous shower may expose the device to instantaneous peak pressures exceeding design limitations. That means don't "nuke it" when spraying/washing it down after use.
O2 compatability should never be an issue with any wat

So, for the type of hunting sites I've outlined (post line #5), which machine is preferable, CZ-21 or Sov Gt?
Can the CZ-21 be outfitted with a coil like the 12x10 Critterhunter is so enthused about on his GT?
Can a CZ be effectively used on land or would my Omega come into better play for that?
Many questions from a newbie, I really appreciate all the feed back from you guys, thanks alot

Regarding the "salt mode", not exactly sure what you mean, is there a salt setting on the GT a la the CZ3D? Or are you refering to the GT's ground balance tracking factory bias, ie the way ML set up the GT to track the ground as it sees it?
I'm hoping to get the opportunity to try a GT tomorrow on a salt beach. My first MD group meet.
Cheers

It seems from reading the extensive write up Tom referred me to that none of these machines would be a "preferred" choice for salt shore searching. Excepting dry sand jewelery. The AT Gold, MAY, have some advantageous use for iron infested sites, if it can precisely disc the iron as good as the G2/GB machines. Its water proof design gives it a field utilisation advantage, but is there a

Besides the obvious water proof design how do the subject machines stack up performance wise?
Do they all GB to salt for instance? I'm assuming being designed for prospecting they should all be able to compensate for black sand and salt?
Can they pick up Canadian clad?
Target separation, adjacent iron masking.

Following this logic, would an AT Pro/Gold with the 4" sniper/snooper (sp?) coil be as effective?
I've just acquired an Omega 8000 with 5" and 11" DD and the stock elliptical concentric. Can I expect similar performance/depth from it w 5" as the F75?
I'm researching an appropriate shore detector, salt sand and mudflat, and lots of fresh water lakes and rivers. Not

Did you find that near home? Seems odd it being up in BC, looks more like something you'd expect to find down south. Hey did you find out more about that button you posted on Canadianmetaldetecting ? I'm on the "other coast" and recently found a similar button in my back yard of all places!!!

I have every intention of meeting this fine gentleman when my wife and I get out there. The RV will be fully utilised once my "retirement" becomes full time. Can't wait! Monte keeps mentioning a book he wants to publish, that is something I trully look forward to. He has been very helpfull to me on his AHRPS website, as well as to countless others through out the web.

Ah, now I understand. Thanks. I was having visions of dodging golf balls while swinging a detector, sort of like a "Caddy Shack" type scenario!
Good luck and HH.

This is an excerpt from a post by 'Monte" over on ahrps.org. It was in regards to a question I had asked comparing:
Fisher 1270;
Fisher CZ3D;
ML Sov GT;
Tesoro Tejon; and the
Whites MXT Pro.
At the time I was not considering the Tek O8, hadn't really heard about it.
Now however, I've read up quiet a bit on it, O8 seems like a very good machine, especially the opinions

How does one go about detecting a golf course? Wouldn't the grounds keepers get upset about plugs in the greens and fairways? Or am I an idiot and your just doing the parking lot etc?
Im curious because I have some really old golf courses around here, just never considered them as possabilitys.

Need to know the pro's and con's of each MD. Will be used primarily for relic hunting. EMI is not an issue, am currently using a Cibola with threshold maxed and sensitivity well into the red, just a bit back from full (supertuned). If I went with the Omega I'd be using the 13" for the fields and the smallest coil available in around old stone foundations. The MXT Pro would be
