Remembered I had this picture on my phone - The reason to not step over logs without looking.
This fella didn't bother rattling til after I disturbed him by kicking the log - he was laying up against it and I would not have seen him if I hadn't checked and made him come out ready to strike!

The MXT Pros are fantastic detectors for sure. White's best machine by miles, imo.
If you are looking to get into Tesoros, there's no reason not to pick up a Compadre, they are a lot of fun on C&J. You will learn the audio and disc easily, and have a lot of fun doing it. Then you will probably be hooked and work your way to other Tesoros .
For manual GB an Outlaw is hard to bea

This is speaking strictly about the topic of the OP ... coin hunting trashy sites.
Every detector is going to be different in some way, but as a rule - If I'm hitting a site for the first time, I'm going to take only Tesoros with me, and only concentric coils. The reason is that the Tesoro disc coupled with the factory concentric coils absolutely works, and absolutely gives me confid

Going to be an unpopular opinion, I reckon - But, a Tesoro with the 5.75" concentric coil would pull coins behind most of the detectors listed. Just take a Compadre with you for super trashy sites, turn the disc up and go. I promise it won't let you down and you will be pulling coins missed by other machines.

Have had hundreds of encounters with timber rattlers here in middle TN - the farm I grew up on was loaded with them, killed over 40 between my family and the neighbors in one really bad year, just in the immediate areas around our homes. We generally left them alone if they weren't a threat to anyone or the animals. Never got bitten, but, had some very close calls that left me feeling pretty

Modded Cibola - If you want a really good, inexpensive performer.
Vaquero if you don't want to mod a Cibola - the Vaquero will not be as good though, in my experience.
Outlaw - If you want a sweet coin and jewelry machine for more modern sites, don't bother with the 3 coil pack, the 8" donut is the best.
Tejon - If you want to spend this much you can't go wrong with i

Great video, Keith. Thanks.
Just bought myself a Fors Relic after seeing how well it was handling that high trash site (especially the angle iron). I had been on the fence about them for a while after digging so much odd shaped iron with the CoRe.
Again, thanks for all the great info you bring to the community, Keith.

I am selling my barely touched XP Deus Metal Detector.
I bought the detector a few months back, and have only been out with it for about 30 minutes in my yard. I cannot justify keeping it the way my schedule is, although I really, really, want to keep it.
I just feel like I won't get to use it enough, and would like to sell it on to someone who will get to use it and enjoy the amazing de
