Wasn't Minelab the one who stated in the runup to the Equinox release : "This detector will obsolete all other detectors" ?
Why yes, it was. So don't insult everyone intelligence trying to defend minelab as high and mighty and above the fray - They if anyone can engage in crass marketeering and overhyped sensationalism more so than anyone else.

Everyone has their preferences, I like FMDF and this one.
TN I haven't been to in years, overhyped over moderated ghetto forum with mods on a constant power trip in diapers.
Don't watch many MD videos period but calabash from what little I have seen is a good comprehensive guy who doesn't mind diving deep into settings, but something about his style doesn't grab me and its

Bought earlier this year from Bart at bigboys as a backup to my Carrot, only used it a couple times at the beach ,, Now with winter coming on sure won't be needing it for a while so I figured I'd try here before ebay if anyone wants to save $30 or so. Nice device, I really like the warbling sound pitch it makes as it gets closer to a target ,, What I didn't like so much was the ver

Let me ask this - Outside of shaft/collar ears and other physical improvements, have any capabilities been added that could not have been added via software update ?
Increased VDI resolution nice, I thought that as being hobbled from day 1, but would be hard pressed to agree that that rates another model number.
Seems to me that software updates were ballyhooed as a major selling point early

here is my wish list, purely aesthetic - Would be great if at the press of a button the screen could be made into just a large VDI display, plus maybe a depth graph. and the icon of the current mode in use. A minimalist screen without the clutter of 90% of whats on there not being relevant.

I have been scoping for historical sites for years, am on the trail of a horse stop tavern in the Detroit area, great thing is is its location was right by a river so alot of the area is still pristine but there has also been alot of construction in the surrounding area, condos, parking lots, widening of streets, but close to the river is still green overgrown and wild so I stand a chance. A few years back I found a honeyhole at a beach loaded with silver coins. Its a large beach and this particular area of it has fallen into disuse, its as far as you can get on this beach from the parking lot and there is really no reason to walk that far unless you are seeking solitude. For that reason I have ignored it for years, very little traffic means very few drops. They did have a volleyb

Yeah I was thinking that too, especially in Europe.
But Keiths post seems to explain it, or splain it ! Just a piece of cheap bling that by chance has a 999 connection to some rapper, but not as a measure of metallic purity.

Found this at a beach yesterday, not .925 hallmarked but the 999 has got me to thinking it might be legit, though would be kinda odd to be stamped 999.
Obviously not worth much either way, just trying to decide if I throw it in the keepers box or junk box
Ok figures, pic not showing up, kinda like pulling teeth posting an image here

Maybe they'll retrofit it with a banana shape and pink polkadots to really distinguish it from the crowd !
As has already been pointed out, the ML design is copied from Quest, for that matter Deus was years ahead of M with this form factor, what really counts is within and its pointless to speculate about something that is pending release.

Interesting to see the defense of the humble company that claimed that their product will make all other companies products obsolete.
What difference does it makes if companies get testy with each other, unless one requires cultured humanitarians to buy products from ?

Might do well to consider that their main target consumer may not be "pros" who want 80 tones and are willing to put in 100's of hours to get good at it and discover combinations of semi hidden nuances that will allow them to discern a bottlecap from a gold ring at 14".
In fact I sold my nox because I felt I was wasting time with the learning curve while I could be out there

As if live digs cannot be faked ?
Went through a spell couple years back watching md videos, got jaded pretty quickly. Even if legit, not that much fun watching other people find stuff.

Not likely to get simplicity with "extreme depth", sold my Nox after only a few uses as I don't care to read a book to tweak a machine either - I have taken quite a liking to the Simplex, could get 3 for the price of one Nox, simple to learn and a very decent performer.
Venerable Ace 400 I still use, a coin and jewelry magnet but not great on depth and obviously a bit dated la

Most commerce based websites are requiring hooks into bank account info these days, including etsy, paypal and reverb.com to name a few.
People have been saying "ebay sucks" for quite some years, this is not something new. People were furious when they stopped letting sellers leave neg feedback for buyers, websites popped up devoted to trashing ebay and telling ban horror stories but i

Haven't seen examples of "Turkey love" but then again, don't spend much time on forums. I think the simplex is a fine machine and whoever makes it deserves credit. It appears with mutil freq the new Ace will be a juiced up, USA made simplex, and its price point will be just about right for that. Seems there is less and less to distinguish detectors these days, they all seem to

Looks promising and looks nice, I'll almost certainly get one.
Waterproof is not a big thing for me now, that always comes at a price anyhow that not everyone is going to be happy about either. I already have an AT pro, simplex and equinox, sure don't need another water machine - There is still something to be said for dedicated land machines. 1 area where I hope the new Ace will shi

The new park 1 is widely known to run a bit deeper, I haven't specifically tested it , but I can feel it.
This comes at the price of slow recovery, which the old park 2 is better at but not as deep. Of course those are stock settings and you can tweak things around to your liking but I think they are pretty good as is, only adjusting sensitivity when there is too much chatter.

re: "pretty well hit". I am sooo glad that I tend not to listen to myself.
Went back today and found 3 nice buttons, I am elated, thrilled, over the moon, ecstatic. And this over ground I have been over multiple times, plus those other 2 guys hitting it, all missed these, and they were easy digs.
I found out what my problem was - I am used to fast recovery speeds swinging with the A
