Yeah too bad it wasn't intact, in otherwise very good condition. Unfortunately, I think I damaged it retrieving it cause its showing fresh copper right where its torn.

Don't know how these links are going to work, lets give it a try.
Been finding some civil war related items that you wouldn't expect in Michigan, so far the best if the Hardee eagle hat shield.
Simplex, which I just got a couple weeks ago, is detecting admirably, I like it. I still like me Ace 400 but gotta say, the simplex is certainly a few notches above the 400. Versatile machine

I like the simplex, have to say so far it is probably the best bargain on the market.
Mute option was a godsend but a double edged sword - Stops the annoying chatter, but don't forget to unmute it when you start detecting again ! I was swinging a full 2 minutes thinking wow, what a quiet field then I remembered. That would be bad enough but it happened 2 more times, really easy to forget

Hope everyone is doing Ok, I'm working now but had a couple weeks off and cleaned out my garage, found this coil in the middle of nowhere. I had a F75 years ago so must have got it when I had that detector.
New never used, $60 shipped USA

Had the repair done for around $180, included a new circuit board, battery cover and coil. Didn't request the coil but they said it was out of specs, so what the actual problem was, or combination of problems, is tough to determine. Seems to be working fine, going to put it to the test and dunk it tomorrow.

Sent it in today, was told $40 flat fee for labor + parts - "+ parts" obviously might be the kicker.
So as of now I have no water machine, except for shallow wading with my Ace 400.

I read good reviews on this set on another forum, of course do research goes without saying. I have read all about the low volume problems as well, so if you get what you pay for, I don't know .... Not a whole lot of choices out there.

I like the concept of untethered but am not by any means obsessed with it, been hunting with an AT pro for the last 5 years with headphones so I am sued to them. No way am I going to spend $150
+ on headphones, most are drastically over priced, AT phones are about the only reasonably prices ones out there. With the detector in hand I can mess with the bluetooth option at my leisure.

Anyone found a work around for using wireless headphone in the water ? I go in up to the chest but the headphones are typically not submerged.

Have confirmed that the coil was not the problem, must be the control box itself. I actually have a detecting store within driving distance , I drove out there with the intention of buying a new coil, he let me try it first and the unit was still flaking out as bad as ever. Not sure if I'm going to look into a repair or not, but a new water machine is for sure on my agenda.

Did try reset, its now worse than ever with no storms within 100 miles. I think its the coil because it did the very same thing 2 years ago. I'm going to bite the bullet and try another coil, if it still flakes hopefully I'll be able to return it. Am going to get another water machine too, AT is great working properly but it has become undependable. Nearest beach to me is a 60 mile rou

I dunno, if it was internal water damage all along then the 1st coil swap would have done no good. Of course, 1st flake out might have been the coil, this one might be internal damage. Next day around here with no rain within 100 miles I am going to try it again to confirm or eliminate the electro interference possibility. No way to confirm the coil theory short of shelling out more $$ for a new

Do you have to purchase special headphones for water, and have any issues developed with this machine water hunting ? Been out of the loop, haven't followed any reviews of this machine. I am looking for a water machine under $1K and am considering it.

In the water or on land it just goes bezerk, signalling moving, standing still, near the ground or in the air. This happened 2 years ago so I got a new coil and the problem went away, now it seems like the exact same thing. Was doing it last week, now today. Was actually working normally for about half an hour, found some change then it started flaking. Shut it off and waited an hour and tried ag

I go in the water, alot, do AT stays.
I like the Ace at tot lots because I can adjust settings on the fly easier, say if I get close to a big chunk of metal and I want to lower sensitivity, I can do that in 2 seconds, with the Racer a bit longer, you have to do some scrolling. Also, I like the basic dings in a setting like that, variety of sounds throws me off ,, But that is because, thats just

I keep anything that could be of possible use and they aren't trashed, screws, washers, zippers to name a few. Toy cars I used to save but if they are anything modern I toss them, if they are older I will save them.

Near mint condition, not used very much. Includes FS: Makro 5" RC13E DD Search Coil and 11" x 7'' DD Search Coil.
Works perfectly, I am selling it because lately I have only been hunting beaches and tot lots, use Ace 400. This thing is way overkill for that, plus I'm nearing an expensive transmission rebuild and drumming up some extra $$. Really like this detector, I&
