TNSS, good video on the nox and etrac. That’s some of the reasons why it sounds like it does. It almost seems like we are getting a full report under the coil with tones. Depending on how it’s setup. Your test makes a lot of sense, it seems like the nox is very sensitive to the size and shape of objects or when they are on edge. Thanks good job.

Tnnss, I’m sure your cap bust dime is real. It’s melted and got very hot in a fire. I have dug several examples of fire damaged silver coins. Thanks Todd Fayard

Deus is a great machine to have in the arsenal. Deep machine. Can set it up just about anyway you could imagine. Learning the deus is about using it in the right sites. It’s right at home in the thickest iron you can find, will pull nonferrous from the iron with ease. It’s also very good at sizing up and giving information on iron relics (bigger iron). Some people have great success in modern tra

Im running a couple different programs, depending on how severe and size of the iron. I really like running pitch, or a 3 tone. All I want is a dig or no dig report. It's great for report iron relics too. 18 to 28 on frequency works great, really don't like the highest frequencies because of hitting on the tiny bits and peices. Don't like digging birdshot. All the deus coils work g

I mostly hunt turn of the century abandoned homesteads or timber camps from the same time period. The XP Deus is the easiest I’ve used to consistently pull the goods out of the thickest of iron. Once you’re out in the thinner iron or a more modern site with the newer types of trash the equinox, mak/nokta , and most other machines seem to pull back even or ahead. In the thickest of iron when looki

In older sites with thickness iron I use makro/nokta, xp deus. In newer sites loaded with iron that has newer debris I use the equinox 800,fbs ctx or explorer or sovereign with different coil sizes or makro/nokta. The deus is great if you know your in an old site with no modern trash. If a site is deserving it’s going to take a lot of machines to get the goods.

I don’t think hunting in thick iron requires a great machine. I live on the Mississippi gulf coast aka the cone of uncertainty or hurricane alley. When I’m out hunting I’m always in iron we have 320 years of habitation and storm debris. Most detectorist cant imagine how much debris a major hurricane can scatter. I go inland to old turn of the century homesteads to hunt the thickest iron to give

It not the pro MRH. Thanks I appreciate everyone’s interest. I’ve got to ship a Nox to Ga this morning. Lol Really enjoy all of these machines just not detecting much right now. Figured someone else may enjoy them at some decent prices. I’m really wanting to keep a couple that are hard to find. If they sell I will buy again when I’m detecting a lot more. Thanks Todd Fayard

Thanks for the great videos Keith. Sharing your thoughts and experiences about hunting in iron. I’m thinking maybe you could charge for some of this stuff that you share for free. lol Thanks again for your help, and I love this forum!

I have a modded nokta Impact that’s had a half of a pound taken off of machine to lighten. It’s also shortened between handle and battery box, and shaved handle down for a more natural feel. It swings like a dream after mods. I have 5 coils with lower rods for this machine and wireless headphones. I’m interested in trading for an etrac, or for sale $620 shipped. Thanks Todd Fayard

I’m sure that Keith Southern did his homework about the equinox unmasking best in prospecting mode before he posted that video, and I am also sure he ran the equinox in sites full of the worst iron imaginable that been beat on for a very long time. He also probably ran the equinox against some of the best unmasking metal detectors available right now.

I feel like the equinox has the capabilities to be a great machine. But will never be one of the all time greatest, if it can only use a smart coil of Minelabs choosing. I like to choose whatever size coil I want. Thats one of the biggest problems with the CTX, the size coil most serious hunters need is not available. Same goes for the Xp deus it needs a smaller coil period. I'm not bashing

Who ever it was that put the washers should be fined for littering ! Especially on government land that is BS. Government land is all of ours and it should be used and taken car of. The government does more damage on our public land than anyone. I know how its managed because my homestead is in the middle of 14,000 acres of national forest.

Thanks for your testing Sod-buster. I'm hoping the ground sensitivity setting clears up some of the raspy distortion in the audio. I love my deus, it's found great stuff in some busted sites, I don't mind blending, bleeding, or signals together, but some of the static type distortion is my only complaint with the deus. By the way the mi6 is pairing lightning fast now, and coil pair

Which coil do I need to get the best depth on MXT? My soil is mild loamy type. I've got several sites that are going to get some mixed mode training time.
