Cal, don't listen to the negative nannies. I normally don't watch your videos but I watched this one. Very exciting find. As you know every piece of dirt is different. What sounds good in your yard may not sound so good elsewhere.
Even though I only have the 600, it would be interesting to find out your settings.
Thank you.

I had a Sport and now an Equinox. Still haven't decided which one I like more. On the other hand, the Sport's controls are much superior to the Equinox.
I've been going over ground covered by my Sport and haven't found additional goodies with the Equinox.

Time of day and temperature makes a difference. I laugh when someone finds lots of stuff in a hard hit area thinking it's the detector. When I detected some of the Treasure Coast I realized that on hot days everyone's A/C was on so the EMI was high and sensitivity had to be turned down. When the temperature dropped towards the evening.... EMI went down so detector sensitivity could be t

I may have only about a dozen hours on the 600, so I decided to give the disc system a good workout. I used Park1 and disced out everything below 25. detected a field next to a church I've hunted before. Dug 13 targets. 12 were clad coins at about 3 to 4". One gave me a long signal so I knew it wasn't a coin. It was an aluminum tent peg. 3 targets gave me only a one way signal so w

Regarding the Nox being great at finding nickles......it hasn't been good to me at all. Still waiting to find my first nickle.
Regarding Keith's statement that the 6" is the deepest he's seen...... I'm guessing he forgot about the 5" coil on the Troy X5.
Still learning.

Bury a high conductive coin such as a Quarter or Dime deep enough to be at the fringes of the Equinox detection depth.
After detecting it with the normal modes, switch over to 5kz mode and see if you get a better signal.
I live in an apartment complex and have no place to dig without getting into trouble.

Don't know why so much hostility towards Rick. Like someone else said, he's a normal detectorist who is under no obligation to report anything regarding this detector.
