I am new to the CZ3D...I haven't had much time yet with it either, but during the short few times i used it, i knew this was going to "be the machine" for me. Excellent Disc & Depth, quiet running...and I like how all good coin targets (excluding 2.5 gold coin), including old nickels...etc...signal "high tone".

I meant to write LOWER, not LOW...I am not a big iron fan though i do dig some mid size signals...but I knew you meant mid, such as nickel/ring/tab areas...i dig those and even iron before foil signals though, unless the # is on the higher side, small rings add up.

wlwalters...
I am no engineer, though I work with them on a daily basis (I am a metal fabricator)...but is there a chance (and someone may get a little wealthier from this idea) that the dust coats they have for the screen housing and the detectors "box" could be made from some soft material or be lined with some material that rids the EMI...maybe even thin sleeves sewed on the dust co

I really like that idea Tom...It should be a new rule of thumb, even for the most dedicated coin shooter:
"Digging 15 mid-tone targets....each and every time you go hunting..... can be quite rewarding."
I usually dig every signal at an old site, but I know a person that doesn't...dig at least 15 low tones (of your choice) each time you hunt...I will have to bring that idea up to

Hey Cracker...these dang machines are programmed to work better in clean dirt with steady ground matrix then they are in an air test...i've been diggin low targets...gettin just wheaties for now, but they were low at about 8+ inches and signals were VERY clear (I was at a park that the ground stays mostly moist, so the sink rate is fast their).

...And remember, the winner's names for each category were drawn from a hat for their photo "submissions", winner's weren't chosen for the quality of their "find"...finds will be posted on www.TreasueHippo.Com soon...Thanks again.
Many relics and jewelry pics were entered for both categories, since those chosen could have been considered as either and or.

My friend Mike J. here in MN thought of that USB port idea many years ago, utilizing it for those same reasons Minelab created it...to bad he didn't actually "physically" invent/patent it. Just goes to show you.

Hi Glenn, I'm Mike, also known as PanMan and the Treasure Hippo...You picked an excellent site to visit. I have been detecting since 1975, but I am an amateur still on land (in the water, I am comfortable as a fish)...and this site too me was as informative as having an instructional hunting buddy at my side...one that is much more informative then the ones I hunt with...haha Welcome.

A friend stopped by w/ his Minelab...I dont have my new probe yet (which is coming via mail soon)...so I didn't want to dig, but I told my friend Mike to hit my iron laden back yard...his Minelab discriminated the iron well....but just too much masking. There were no finds but a penny dropped not long ago...
OK, here's the deal: I broke out the CZ3D for my 1st official hunt, we went
