I really think people don't dig close in on the foil/nickel range. Just an interesting tidbit seems like and I'm having to think there is a reason most people will never find a trime.

South Carolina Dirt Diggers had our Christmas party/lunch/hunt today. Myself and the greatest kid you'll ever detect with planted over 200 good coins, civil war bullets, buttons, and 25 numbered items for the prizes to be given away. Planted 10 trimes(3 cent nickels),10 V nickels, and only 1 of each were dug. Everything was around 2-3 inches deep. About 35-40 people hunted for many hours and

Keep in mind I'm very sure like Tom said he is digging nails on purpose. What he is relaying is it tells you what is in the ground really good ferrous vs conductive. IOW it's not calling conductive targets ferrous as a lot of machines will do. That is really a brilliant way to really see what the machine is telling you approaching it from the back door of what we dig for. I'll have

I started out running the concentric coil on the Gold + but after about an hour realized there was way too much trash that had been under this house for a long time along with the demolition debri on top of it mixed in by the dozier. Actually so busy I couldn't figure which way was up really. Depth not being the solution here at all or the 10" coil. I put on the 5" DD coil, way eas

Tom I'll second the dime vs nickel scenario. I recovered a Merc this past Saturday from a melee of dirt and trash at a just torn down house site and it was almost a surface discovery, about an inch deep in the mix. After digging a wheat penny shortly there after on the outer bounds of the bad mix of trash I inserted the Merc in the side of the nicely dug metal free hole the recovery was made

Keith I ran it on several targets and moved it to different settings, it's so easy to do, and there's just a few. General and watching the TID worked great for me however it doesn't take long to get tired of watching a number lol. Boost was CHATTY but where I was at literally covered up with overhead wires it should be that way. I got about 5 or 6 hours on it yesterday and well, in

Tom I did move from one to the other over targets with the retune speed and well the setting of 4 was most appealing to me, sound and length wise of the report. At 5 the report is loud and clear just short in duration and well I'm not used to that short of a report. However the machine is frikkin lightning fast in 4 or 5. 5 being blistering lol. The lower settings seemed to long for my taste

Visited my "test" yard today for a little over 2 hours with a machine. Dug a lot of coins out of it the last few years. The front yard of the 105 yr old house was about done I thought, again. I haven't ran a concentric coil in a long time either, can't imagine what the DD's will do. You have to watch the TID when coin hunting when you get a report and my findings were if

House just torn down and trashy an understatement. Rosie, 3 wheats, memorials and other stuff. Rosie was heavily involved with iron but came through enough to dig the one way hit.

From everything I've seen and the measurements taken, when the warranty is up I'll retrofit my Racer onto a Plugger one piece Excal shaft. It will work.......hhhmmm Sliding the stock coil and rod into the plugger shaft it makes the nose heavy for the stock coil go away.

Well it's a facebook group. I've never been on facebook until this was formed and that's all I use it for is detecting related. Find us, we're a closed group so you'll have to request to get to join in. Yes we filter the "notorious ones" lol. By joining our diggers club you get to go on hunts like this at virtually cost for the property and insurance. Way cheape

Video made by one of our members of the "South Carolina Dirt Diggers" at our first hunt we had, this was on 4000 acres. We are a facebook group and have a superb time. This is just a small portion of the finds dug. Great hunt, great finds, great friends. We're not in this to make money, we're promoting metal detecting on some GREAT properties and this is just the beginning. No

Just bring them both. You're synopsis of the hunt site is probably dead on. Not much modern trash at all. Lots of T2 machines will be here looks like. I'll be running a stock coil on a machine to begin with and will have something that goes deep if needed. Been here since Wednesday beach hunting uhh, sterile sand lol. I'm ready to hit some fields and woods myself. Great weather loo

At least I think I have seen it discussed here. Tell me about it, seems maybe a lot of machines don't have a ture all metal am I correct? How would you discern true from maybe what's called all metal and really not. I can realize the pros and cons pretty much.

Ahhh you relic hunters are killin me! Being a coin hunter, I'm amazed at the amount of targets just about any and all machines leave behind that the Racer will see that the other machines cannot. I don't even dig mid tones at all not unless they are in the 56 range for a nickel or have a very nice short sweet report that sounds solid. But I'm a coin hunter and ya'll are relic

I wish I had the knowledge and let's say "endurance" to keep at it like you do Keith when investigating/researching someplace. WOW that's just cool as can be, all that time and you still remember. Excellent work and outcome and looks like it can and will be rewarding. Nice pics.........

House is gone now as of last week, was built in 1916 I believe. Racer and small coil in dense trash, stock settings and ground balanced at 70. Got a 50 and 64 Rosie, a couple of wheats and others.
